My opinion....
It needs to be an American. Someone who understands the culture because your national team should play to your culture. Blue collar, hardworking Americans. That how we played before Klinsmann and if we can develop talent it can take us a long way.
I also want an American because they should, hopefully, know our youth system inside and out.

You don't think a coach like Pareja would know the youth system inside and out? He's been here since 1998.

I just hope we don't hire someone "because he's American", but I also hope we don't hire someone based on name.
In a vacuum, Tuchel would seem like a good choice based on his handling of young talent and his relationship with Pulisic, but our soccer setup is a much different animal than anything in Europe and I just worry that he would be trying to go against that grain at every step a la JK.
I don't know, it's a weird as frick point in the life of US Soccer right now and I'm not sure what the right answer is.
