He was brought in as a backup. Shaw was the only left footed fullback on the squad at the time I believe. Him and Martinez were supposedly critical for ten Hag to balance the defense...no left footed CBs and one injury prone LB. Too bad Malacia has been as bad as Shaw when it comes to downtime. He seems like he is a decent defender but I don't see him offering much going forward. A transfer is probably best for both parties.

Hopefully United fans don't overreact to Dorgu not lighting the world on fire...I doubt he's going to bring 40-50 goals to the table.

I think it's more of signing at actual wingback that has the ability to go forward. Not sticking a lb/rb in that position and watching them fail over and over like Dalot when they get into the final third. He'll take some time to get used to things, but he has potential.

He will be able to take on defenders 1v1, which will be a nice change of pace.

He should be able to carry the ball well and progress that way but he isn't noted for his crossing and cut backs. That's going to take him time and effort to develop which is natural for how young Dorgu is.

Bottom line is we need goals in this team. I thought Hojlund was positive yesterday and Mainoo looked great at the 10 spot but it's a big ask of very young players to stay consistent and productive.

I'm definitely excited to see how Dorgu does though, we need physically lifted guys like him almost as much as goals.

Hojlund has regressed a lot, he has been horrible lately. Which sucks. His touch, hold up play, inability to make runs shows a lot.

No doubt...he was only relatively better yesterday but still a shite sandwich. I just feel kinda bad for him because he shouldn't be leading the line at United at his age.

Martinez injury looked like another season ender for him. 2nd year in a row where he will miss significant time. I swear either we have the worst medical & fitness staff in the world, or we are just that unlucky/cursed.

The performance yesterday vs Palace at home was horrendous per usual. I have no idea why we are even worse playing at Old Trafford. We are 5-1-7 this season at home

Martinez injury is concerning for several reasons. I just hope that A) the injury isn't as bad as it seems and B) it doesn't affect the trajectory of his career. Two significant knee injuries and a foot injury are not obviously not good things to be accumulating.

The squad plays scared at home...I don't know how else to describe it. They look shell shocked...they can't even complete easy passes let alone combine, make productive runs or do anything creative.

I'm really struggling to understand how we are losing so many home matches.

Sucks but expected. Luke Shaw would be nice to have healthy and fit right about now.

Speak of the devil, just reported Luke Shaw suffered another injury setback during recovery. I saw a video the other day that if you add up all of Luke Shaw's missed games due to injury it would total 6 full seasons. Of course our dumbass executives gave him a new contract in 2023

We should have either 1) forced him to sit out the euros or 2) terminated his contract when he didn't play 90% of last season then rushes back to try and play for England only to further injure himself. Only United allow that to happen.

Down 1-0 to Leicester at home FA cup draw, never seen players this consistently poor at simple play.

Bet Amorim is wishing he didn't take this job. Maybe he already was thinking that, but I think right about now he definitely is.

100% plus the club sending out 3 players and bringing in 1 over the January window. His squad at sporting rolls this united team 4-0. Our players legit can't complete 5 yard ground passes 80% of the time.
