That is a huge bone of contribution between SB regulars and people who come on for the wc only. It's a rule and it is being considerate. Ridiculing that rule isn't going to make anyone on this board happy.

Classic idiotic rewrite the rule proposal, which was summarily shot down for it´s ´naívety´, and another WC poster attacked SB habituals for being elitist snobs.

Rather than just ridicule him, why not explain why the rule is in place? He never posts here normally so doesn't know much about it. Even if the "how to survive the soccer board" thread, there is no reasoning listed.

I think it's safe to say that Golfer has done the bulk of the ridiculing in this thread.

If you notice in that thread, it is explained to him. He then disagrees with the explanation and gets angry.

Or people can just respect the "as usual, the score will not be in the title" that was stated on today's match thread
And Mexico's match thread
And Mexico's match thread

If you're going to post stupid shite like kashonly and tell us how we can fix the game or how we would be dominant if Lebron played soccer, well, you can f off. That's who he's referring to.
To be fair Kashonly post stupid shite in lots of threads

I haven't been angry in a good 3 years

I hope everyone hurts them in a bad way

He was laughing because he thinks its dumb that you can't put the score in the title when the game is nationally televised. Its not like the Olympics when events are tape delayed
The games are tape delayed for me, and every other person that can't take EVERY frickING DAY off of work for the next month.
Question: How many NFL playoff games, NBA finals games or World Series games happen at 11 AM on a Tuesday?
Lots of games in the World Cup (and throughout the soccer year) happen in the middle of the day, in the middle of the week.
It's common courtesy on every soccer board on the planet, so it's just fine here.

Seems like a quick review of a goal could occur during the celebration. College Football reviews all scoring plays in the time the kicking unit gets on the field

Every PGA tour event occurs two working days of each week. And a large number of tournaments on the weekend are tape delayed bc of weather concerns (see FedEx St. Jude this past weekend) and I don't get in a tizzy because I see someone leading or the winner before watching?

With all due respect, and I mean it (not the cliché with which many use this phrase), it is absolutely not the same.

Major sporting event hosted in the same time zones as the US on national TV networks?

quote:The fact that this is only brought up by Golfer and one or two others every four years should tell you that it is a rule that most of the people who are on this board often agree with and, thus, shouldn't be changed. If you want to know the score, there are literally thousands of easy ways to find it.

Yeah but you could still watch the 3rd and 4th rounds over the weekend if you wanted. Even if you saw who won, and didn't "get in a tizzy" the people here would still prefer not to have the score in the title in case they still wanted to watch the game later without knowing the outcome. What is so hard to respect about that?

What one misses...There´s a build up, a crescendo, etc...
There is the same in golf, granted, but, one albeit
´bummed out´, gets it and grasps it (especially when recanted to them by one who knows).
It doesn´t matter what your closest friend explains to you, you don´t get it, until you see it.
