What is your endgame here? Do you want posters who may have ridiculed you in that thread 2 years ago to apologize on their behalf?
Nah. The board could understand the popularity of the WC will bring more people here and thus some unpopular or different thoughts may be discussed.

Let's say it goes the other way. There is a goal that is scored but not given.
It wasn't a scoring play on the field and there aren't challenges in soccer so they keep playing?

We know that. Once again, there's a difference between a legitimate and illegitimate discussion. Give us the benefit of the doubt on that, FFS.

Again, you're assuming things.
This board knows the power of the World Cup.

well I'm sure FIFA can influence the game around the world if they start enforcing these types of rules in international play
But FIFA is not a monolithic organization. It is the association made up of football associations. It's super hard to impose change at the FIFA level. Individual football associations can and will vary their rules. But FIFA is slow to change if ever.

Would someone be a dear and tell me how this has gotten 120 replies in an hour? I don't feel like flipping through.

Again, what illegitimate discussion has happened on this board outside of kashonly's thread?

Golfer clearly has an axe to grind against the posters of this board, but he is not being so blatant about it.

Today, none (on THIS board). This thread was made knowing that tens more will be made in the coming weeks.
And you can't just excuse Kash's thread, as it's what started the whole discussion.

But shouldn't that be up for review? It's primarily sorting the stoppages in play that concerns FIFA, as well as leaving their referee's in a position to be unduly criticized.
What would have to happen is an individual league would have to institute rules like this, as FIFA is a very slow organization to change. Once leagues perfect it then FIFA can get support to change it. Also would all FIFA sanctioned events be subject to these reviews, as not every international game played will have all the cameras of big events.

Classic idiotic rewrite the rule proposal, which was summarily shot down for it´s ´naívety´, and another WC poster attacked SB habituals for being elitist snobs.

That's not an illegitimate discussion about soccer. And he has a point.

Well tough shite, y'all are just gonna have to deal with it. But people like me and Golfer would appreciate not being called a moron or a troll every time we make a noob post

He's just a complete troll. Go look at his post history.

What do you think his point is?
If it's that the soccer board is made up of a bunch of elitist douche bags, then no, it is most certainly not a point.

Golfer was trolling before this thread was made (see the match thread for Mex-Cam).

Because he thinks the score should be on the thread title?

And laughing at the match being on ESPN2...
And yes, on this board, bitching about scores in thread titles is trolling. The admins have spoken on this, and it's not changing.

He was laughing because he thinks its dumb that you can't put the score in the title when the game is nationally televised. Its not like the Olympics when events are tape delayed
Him voicing his opinion is not trolling
