As for the players not knowing how long is left, I'm pretty sure every stadium in a major tournament and in a top division has a scoreboard of some form which tells you the time too.

As for the suggestion that it should be stopped whenever it is out of play, the verge game only had the ball in play 60-65 minutes so imagine adding another 30 minutes or 50% time added on, especially in this World Cup players would be close to collapsing. Most run 10-12km in a game which isn't bad going in itself but they wouldn't be upping that to 15-18 the game would be horrendously slow

I like the rolling clock, I do think it could be stopped for bad injurirs or penalties but the same rule for everything is ok, it also helps planing, you know a game isn't going to last 2 hours start to finish where as how long can a basketballs final 2 minutes last? I've never seen one last 2 minutes that's for sure
