You want the World Cup final to be played in Green Bay? What happened to destination city?

Vegas
Something doesn’t feel right about the most corrupt sports organization hosting its marquee event final in the gambling capital of the world… but yeah, Vegas would’ve been my pick as well, though I have no issue with Dallas.

I was just answering the question of iconic NFL stadiums

People don’t vacation to this country from abroad and say we have to go to Dallas
I met an Australian in New Orleans once who had Dallas on his list. He was a "gridiron" fan in New Orleans for Mardi Gras and the Super Bowl. Was a Dallas fan and wanted to see the stadium. He basically flew up there for a day or two to tour the stadium.

Lambeau is an oversized High School stadium, it is cool to take in because of what happened 60+ years ago but then you realize you're in the middle of fricking nowhere.

World class stadium
Two airports that can actually handle the capacity
And a city that can actually house all of the attendees
And a state and owner that probably paid a lot to make it happen.

The Dallas area has become a destination, thanks largely to what Frisco is doing.

We got some anti-Texas people in here
1. There are no iconic stadiums in the USA, large enough for World Cup. Toss out your college stadiums, while large enough are not normally located in a major city with infrastructure to support visitors. The most iconic (baseball) are obviously not an option. There are zero iconic NFL stadiums, there are just new stadiums.
2. DFW is major metro environment that can handle the extra people. Direct flights to overseas and central to entire USA.
3. North Texas is the heart of youth soccer in the USA. California and South Florida can rival it, but NTX is the heart. I could have seen them having it in CA or FL, but NY/NJ should never have been an option.

Lower level of possible but not too close to the field like the mid to top of the lower level
Football stadiums are not built like soccer. So the the front row seats are not on top of the pitch and are father back
So with having a wider field than football it’s all fricked up bc the front row angle is different than a traditional soccer stadium.
It’s why SoFi got the boot for hosting the final. It’s dimensions fricked

Are tickets already on sale for this?
Posted on 1/25/24 at 3:22 pm to cwil177
I signed up on the COPA America website to have chances to buy tickets before they go on sale to the general public. They said it would be mid January but as of today I’m not received anything and they seem to not be on sale anywhere except for secondary websites.
ETA: just did some research and people on US soccer subreddit are saying they are not going on sale until March
