According to this Portuguese newspaper. LINK

Sad seeing one of the all-time great legends of the game going out like this.

He’ll come on and have the winner today. Then draw a penalty to beat Morocco. CR7 to the semis.

He should do well as a sub but his ego has potential to destroy this talented Portugal team that could easily make semis

I love CR7 but his personality is killing him now.

If he could just play the super sub role he could be deadly. Give everything he’s got for 20-30 minutes. But he can’t live with not being a faulty starter.

Also side note Ramos is good, I think he’ll be a name you hear popping up for Europe in the next year or two. (I know he already is a little but I mean major money)

Also does the coach not like Leao? I thought he was going to get the spot

Oh no now we don’t get to see him stand diagonally to the rest of the players during the anthem

Can’t stand the guy, never could, he’s continually proving me right about his character. Respect his skill, but he’s a POS.

The media pushes this narrative he hasn’t said anything nor complained about being benched.

Possibly, but he makes it easy to believe the way he behaved in Manchester.

Well, his personality is part of how he came to be who he is. He's 37 now and this will be his last WC.

No I know that 100% right. Just wish he would have matured a little late in his career and play that role well. But in the end I guess asking someone to change possibly their defining trait is a tad unrealistic.

He legit ran down the touch line celebrating every goal with his teammates but every media outlet is posting the one picture with his hand on his chin looking emotionless pushing the narrative that he had a pout fest.
