/limps back into thread

everyone's nutting over this Henry Winter piece on Arsenal. Seems like he's mostly right. As an aside, I think I want to be Henry Winter someday.

Lots of cries for Sakho at the moment. Football France is reporting we had a failed 15 million dollar bid for him in March. They're asking for 20 and other clubs are on his trail too.

I'm not believing that that's the away kit. Don't see the crest and commemorative bit around it being white. And I HATE that design. That white one around earlier better be real.

After today's wonderful result from Newcastle I would normally get optimistic and say we are still alive in the title race, but considering our string of performances only getting draws I am keeping myself at a fairly low level of optimism.

yeah I'm keeping my distance from the hopes of a 1st place outcome. I'm in fact expecting the worst. It's what we've been conditioned to in the last 5 or so games.

We need a inspirational moment. Losing the Carling Cup Final in the way we did destroyed us mentally.

He certainly is correct about Wenger needing to take more responsiblity. I think he over-canonizes Sir Alex and his "magnanimity." More than the typical journo recycled reasons for Arsenal's failings in recent years (age, mettle, leadership, etc.) I think it can be simply stated we haven't had a great GK and great CBs in years. Chelsea and ManU have and their attacking options have been at least as good. People always try to come up with bullshite reasons otherwise, but maybe its just as simple as we don't have the overall talent that Chelsea and ManU have had in recent years. Now that we're back on sturdier financial footing, that should change.

It might be something as simple as that. I'd like to believe that Szczesny will solve all our problems with GK. And I feel we are very close with CB's, as Djourou has been a revelation, and I'm excited to see him paired with Vermealean. TV's aggressive approach works well with JD's more passive approach.

Obviously I'm trying to be as optimistic as possible.

what pisses me off most about the recent draws is they are allowing man u to just skate by. Not only could they lose and draw and still win the epl but they can concentrate on winning the champions league.

Beat liverpool and they would only be 5 points behind. Tough games for both teams a head, but i have zero confidence now. Sure defense didnt look too bad against pool, but that doesnt matter if you cant score. I wouldnt be surprised to see 0-0 result tomorrow. This just isnt good enough. If chelsea hadnt slipped up arsenal would finish 3rd this year. If they dont get a result out of the remaining games they prob will finish 3rd.

I would. Should be an offensive show. Both teams desperatley need three points. WHL will be rocking hard. I can't wait.

keeper wasnt really tested sunday. That would be my biggest concern.

The only thing i have going this season is i bet my friend Arsenal would finish in the top 3. He said they would finish 5th behind spurs.

You win tomorrow and you win the league. Just watch. Its like I'm psychic when it comes to these things. I get these weird gut feelings and I'm getting one about this game. Every time I get one, which isn't often, It ends up working out how I feel it will.

Mark my words, Arsenal over Spurs and you have the trophy. Just trust me. I was the only one who said City would surprise everyone in the FA semis(and looked how that turned out).

There's my proof. Keep the faith Gunners.

I will buy all of your beers for the CL Final at Finn's if your premonition bears fruit. I thought City would win as well.

I'll hold you to that. It all comes down to tomorrow though. If y'all pull it out, be prepared to throw down some celebratory pints.

I agree.

I think considering all the circumstances (talent, injuries, etc) we've underachieved less than ManU, Citeh, and Chelsea. People always talk about United having this champions-grit to them, but honestly they should have run away with this thing by now.

United have been incredibly overrated this season.

True. But consider the following:

Two matches against West Brom = 1 pt.
Two matches against Newcastle = 1 pt( )
Up 2-0 at home to Spurs = 0 points.

A minimium of 8 points = EPL lead and the favorites.

we've definitely done it to ourselves this season. Just like the end of last season.

I'm getting really sick and tired of Wenger's post-match comments. I probably just shouldn't look at them anymore.
