Well, that was absolute fricking bullshite.
We spent the whole time in and around the penalty area over-thinking and over-passing. We never stretched Fabianski.
I know Theo is not a center-forward. That was an odd substitution. I think Wellbeck would have been better there.
But, with what he will cost, it's likely Theo will not be back next season.
And that would be okay with me.
*Okay sorry, didn't realize Welbz was out with an injury. But stil, it just doesn't seem like Theo fits in the center, and I just don't see him returning to his previous role and form on the wing.

Yeah that sucked. If anything the better option would have been subbed Walcott for coquelin and then push Ramsey into the middle. Leave giroud in.

Taking Giroud out was odd other than the fact he was getting brutalized physically. We needed to whip a few balls in from wide.

Well that was shite. It seemed like every shot in the 2nd half went right at Fabianski. Our chance at 2nd has pretty much faded.

No it hasn't. We're three points back with a game in hand.
2nd or 3rd doesn't really matter to me, anyway. Out of the CL play in round.

... and ManUre breathing down our necks for third.
Yes, another FA cup would be wonderful, but there is a decent chance that we end up in our usual BPL spot, hanging on to fourth and a play-in for CL.

City have Swansea and Soton. They can drop points.

Help us, Jonjo Shelvey. You're our only hope.

Haha.
I'm pumped about the man u game. This really needs to be the season we take care of them. I think we have a much stronger squad. Hopefully the lads are more up for this one.

So after today the only way of getting 2nd is to have City lose to Southampton?
Posted on 5/17/15 at 12:00 pm to ATLienTiger
Or if they get a draw and we score enough to make up the goal difference.

Ramsey needs to take over that Cazorla spot. Cazorla can rotate in when Ramsey needs a break, or as a late sub or in cup competitions. Maybe play them together instead of Coquelin in certain situations.
But we just need that energy Ramsey brings. It's the same issue we had with Ozil earlier in the year. At this stage both Ramsey and Ozil are better than Cazorla, who I love, but they shouldn't be shunted out of their best positions to accommodate him

this team has disappointed the last two weeks, just nothing going forward really. We were lucky to get out of that. Our best player was kosc. Im just afraid that we will have to make a manager change to ever really compete. You cant beat man u, cant beat chelsea, cant beat swansea, cant beat spurs. It just isnt good enough.

Ramsey really came alive at 55 mins. He and Wilshere worked really well against Man U's midfield. Santi seems a little tired after a great run of form in the middle of the season.

Who would you want change managers to? Who's "competing?" We have a team that costs roughly the same as liverpool, significantly less than the two manchesters and Chelsea. Money talks. Every team winning leagues across Europe is almost without exception, the richest or second richest team in their league.
Even when Atletico won last year, they were the third richest in la liga. When Dortmund won they were by far the second richest in Bundesliga. Arsenal are a clear fourth in EPL. In the past 6 years they've finished above all the Big 3 at least once, but just never at the same time. It's an incredibly tall task.
Look at Man U, brought in arguably the top manager on the market, spent close to 150 million, and is going to eke into fourth bc liverpool collapsed, with no trophies.
We beat spurs three times last year, we went 1-1-1 with Man U, with our win coming in the biggest game. No one on the entire continent beat Chelsea this year, and I don't think Swansea really belongs in this category. Let's give a year or two before we declare winning against them a futile endeavor.
Not to mention the team basically has 2nd/3rd sewn up, with no appreciable difference between the two.
That being said, Wenger does need to change this lineup and rotate more. We do need some more pure wingers, and we absolutely need more trickery and penetration around the box. A hazard/Aguero type

Wilshere and Theo really changed the game when they came on. They should have come on sooner, obviously. Santi was poor. Ramsey was poor for the majority of the game. Giroud had some good flicks but overall was pretty poor, especially his finishing. Our movement was poor. It was amazing how Theo stretching the back line and Wilshere moving around between the lines and finding space really opened things up. We definitely looked like the better team after making the change.
