Long time arsenal thread lurker here. Is anyone else infuriated that podolski doesn't get more run after watching him pepper the goal all first half? It blows my mind that he doesn't get a start against lesser league sides at the very least.

Well especially since we haven't been the best team in front of goal this season

I'm always amazed about how strong the Ox is. He just destroys anything that tries to run him over.

Does anyone else think that Arsene makes Yaya play with regular non-cleat shoes on as some sort of Mr. Miyagi lesson? If not, he may be the clumsiest world-class athlete I have ever seen.

Lol define world class athlete.
And yeah it infuriates me that Podolski doesn't get more playing time. Arsene is terrible at rotating. Poor guys like Poldi and Rosicky rot on the bench and our other players get worn out. It's no surprise we constantly catch the injury bug. It's a systemic problem.

I didn't mean in relation to soccer players. I meant in relation to your average human.

I still wouldn't describe him as a world class athlete. But it's all semantics.
Shocker, Arsenal has a melt down and it causes us to get second in the group. Unless we draw Porto it looks like we're going out in the first round of the knockouts as always. That said I'm not sure how good Monaco is this year.
Any way you look at it, giving up a three goal lead at home to a Belgian team in inexcusable. It hurts that one of those goals was offside, too.

I'd take Porto/Monaco, but you know with our Knockout round CL luck we will get Madrid, or Bayern.

Not at all. Topped the group scoring only four goals.

Haven't read through the most recent posts, but just wanted to add that Debuchy was excellent today in his first game in 3 months!
Knowing that we're getting him back now along with Koscielny likely to feature in the next couple of games, then it gives our team a completely different complexion.
Despite how diabolical that loss was at Stoke, 4 wins in our last 5 games in all competitions is at least a start to turning the season around. Vital that we get wins from our next 3 league games against Newcastle (H), Liverpool (A) and QPR (H).

Seven points from those matches more than likely gets Arsenal to 4th. We also play West Ham on Dec 28. That is a must win. Going to be difficult at Upton Park.

Obviously I hate Arsenal.
But that Aaron Ramsey goal tho!

Some of you will choose to focus on the negatives (can't really blame you), but I'm pretty excited about our form recently. Qualified for Champs League playoffs with a game in hand, sent mostly subs and reserves to Turkey and won 4-1! On top of that, we've won 4 of 5 (3 clean sheets) and even in the worst game we've played all season, we somehow almost came back to save a point.
I hope we can continue getting good results until the new year when we should get lots of guys back and bring in some reinforcements. We've yet to see our full team together and it's the middle of December!
Also, obligatory :datRamseygoaltho:
Edit: I'm sure Liverpool fans and City fans would love to trade us for our "Champs League woes" of finishing second in the group

Positives
Ramsey's obviously rounding into form.
Oxlade-motherfricking-Chamberlain
Debuchy is back.
We advanced into the CL Round of 16
We've won four of five
Even though we're six in the PL, we're ahead of Pool, Everton, and Tottenham, who should be the teams pushing us for fourth.
The January window is approaching and we're likely to make some sort of move.
Negatives
We're sixth in the PL.
We're playing Flamini.
We're missing Ozil, Wilshere, Arteta and Walcott.
Our LBs rotate being injured
I think the reason for all the negativity is how typically Arsenal this season has been in a year where it looked like our ambitions were to win the league. We can't stay healthy, Wenger continues to make baffling tactical decisions, our squad rotation is not good, and we have no defensive depth.

I agree. The high expectations has lead to quicker frustration, and it's entirely understandable. Disregarding the expectations though, the fact Arsenal is 6th in the league and advanced into the CL knockout phases with 13 points is rather remarkable considering all of the injuries we have.
Injuries like this would absolutely cripple tons of other teams, but we're somehow easily still in place to make a good run in the league and advancing on in the Champs league. I don't blame anyone for being upset and frustrated, but all in all, I'm amazed (and all things considered, pleased) at where we currently sit.
Edit: Can. Not. Wait. until we have our full squad back!

We never seem to have it that full squad. If we do achieve that we will push for top 2.

I don't think we can pass up city... Just being realistic. Injuries are going to happen again. It's just the Arsenal way.

I BELIEVE!!!
If Kos can play Saturday would anyone be opposed to backline of...
Debuchy-Mert-Kos-Gibbs.. with Chambers as CDM?
Flamini isn't getting it done and Newcastle has been playing well.
