Despite the fact we had massive screwups that caused all three Stoke goals, we should have come away with a point. The first Stoke goal happens when you have three players with so little experience at RB, CB, and GK. Still, Chambers should have cleared it. On the second goal, I have no clue what Flamini, Ramsey, Mertesacker, or Chambers is doing. Ramsey and Flamini should have picked up Bojan. Flamini even fricking points to him. Like a fricking retard. Mertesacker is doing absolutely nothing. Chambers is so frightened of Crouch's height that he reacts late. Horrible defending from Gibbs as well. Basically we had five players shite the bed at the same time. The third goal was more ball-watching. All of these are correctable mistakes, and we wouldn't even have to buy anyone. Players would have to actually do something for once that resembles playing defense, like tracking a fricking runner, or not missing a god damn header at the front post, or not fricking ball watching on a god damn corner. The first and third goal had a bit of bad luck, but christ almighty the second goal shouldn't happen even at the high school level, as Bojan was unmarked 25 yards from goal, and glided by our defensive midfielder and our captain CB into a position where he should never have been allowed in the first place. Mertesacker has been shite this season, and Flamini is only good to tell other people what to do. When he actually has to do something, he's absolute horseshite.
Also Giroud shouldn't be missing chances like he does. He's brilliant with his back toward goal, and he and Welbeck pair up really well, but good fricking god that chance in the first half was put on a fricking plate. He'd be an elite targetman if he'd just put away chances.

I'm sick of Per. We need to buy to replace him. He and Arteta (who has been equally brilliant and fragile lately) need to be depth.
I'm better than Flamini.

I really think the Algeria game shell-shocked Per. That game exposed his lack of pace in a massive way. Flamini looks equally as shell-shocked, but for some unknown reason. He doesn't even cover ground like he once did. Maybe it's age, but he should be relegated to the bench. Arteta is still a good CM, which is more than we can say for Ramsey and Wilshere, who both seem so wayward in the defensive positioning aspect, which is odd because they have good defensive qualities, just never when we need them.
The truth is that if we just did the basic sort of defensive work, we probably would have gotten out of that game with a win. We don't need any new signings. A new CM would help shore up our game in a massive way, but if Per or Flamini would have done what they were supposed to, we wouldn't have given up that second goal to Bojan. Like who the frick was either of them marking? It inflames me that Flamini pointed at the runner as if it wasn't his responsibility, when he should have tracked the runner from midfield. Did he think that Walters was somehow going to drag it back to a position where there was absolutely no one from Stoke? It frustrates me that there seems to be no defensive communication. It's basic stuff. It should be second nature to midfield players, especially ones that value defensive work as much as Flamini, to track fricking midfield runners. Christ, it's always really basic shite that we do that other teams exploit. Last year it was the full backs, who haven't really improved their positioning. This year it's the midfield who can't decide on whether they are going to play a midfield two or three, or if they are going to defend at all.
What I despise about the way we play is that we have, since our run of games where we went unbeaten for a year, lacked seriously in the ability to work together as a defensive team the way we work as an offensive team. Hell I'd take the deep line we played at the beginning of the 2012 season if it means we will stop conceding stupid fricking goals.

Shut your lying whore mouth. You're turning into Arsene. We have 6, count them, 6 defenders. One of them is Per who you think should be relegated to the bench. So when Kos is out and Monreal is injured we only have one start worthy CB (can we call him that?) in 19 year old Callum Chambers.
Flamini is playing for us because we don't have better depth. Everyone knows we need a DM and a CB in a bad, bad way.

I'm telling you, I played really well at right back for my mens open team last night. I'm confident I'm better than Flamini, at least. Someone give Arsene my number.

What I mean is we should be doing way better with the players we have. Flamini wasn't always this bad. It was also a massive mistake to let Jenks go on loan. We do need a CM to step up, but it's unlikely we'll get a player of the right caliber in January.

Because of the market or because of Arsene?

According to the team sheet we'll play Bellerin on the left and Per on the right side of central defense. I think that's a good adjustment all around.
ETA: Nope, Per on the left.

If we hadn't collapsed against anderlecht would we have a chance of getting first in the group?

I think we still technically have a chance, but we would either need to score a ton of goals here or have Dortmund lose like 4-0. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)
