I actually thought we played really well
You've been watching Arsenal longer than me, but I didn't think we played well. I didn't think we created much of anything other than Jack's bad touch.
We didn't play bad, but had nothing in the final third. Credit to Chelsea's defense, of course.

The whole thing about diver's is that they aren't really hurt so of course they don't miss time
He hasn't had a dive yet. As bad as Cahill's tackle was it wasn't even close to Felipe Melo's.
He isn't a diver and plays his arse off.

How the frick was that not a straight red card?

I'm still baffled by that non-call.

I never said that was a dive, but he does have that reputation and it's well earned. Just because you get legit fouled sometimes doesn't mean you don't dive as well.
Like I said hopefully getting him out Spain will take that element of his game away, or at least reduce it significantly. Same thing I'm hoping for with Costa, and so far so good.
What are your thoughts on the punch to Ivanovic though? I mean that video is pretty clear and it was a wild swing at a guy who had his back to him.

The man survived a Suarez attack. That was nothing.

don't think it was smart at all. couldn't have complained too much if they had given a red, though i'm not sure i'd call it a punch. more than anything i think it's an indication of chelsea's overly-physical tactics working in that situation (and welbeck's). i would assume that one of the hopes of that shite style is the chance an opposing player will pop off. that and trying to injure people.

Ozil named most productive passer of 13-14 in EPL...backed up with stats.

But let's just play him on the fricking wing why don't we?

It is worth noting that Ozil's high score comes from the consistency of his passing across both the high number of matches and the types of passes he made. Out of all players in the 2013/14 season Ozil was the only player to record a positive pass value in every match he played. For a man criticised in some quarters for not getting involved, this goes some way to redressing the balance
But let's just play him on the fricking wing why don't we?

There were many instances in that match that were tense and the ref didn't do a good job handling it.
Sanchez hasn't been diving and all he does is hustle and give his all. Sounds like the kind of player you should like. He is forged from Chilean steel.

It isn't a coincidence that our two best showings have been with him in the middle of the pitch. We are much more incisive and direct when he plays the 10 role.

I really hope Theo is able to return to form quickly and is able to force Wegner's hand there.

didn't think he was awful (though not great) sunday, and this video reinforces that thought. had some really bright moments in there. pass to santi for jack's chance and pass to poldi at the end in particular were class.
i'll be interested to see what we do with theo back.
also, apparently schneiderlin said we had a meeting planned before Soton's fans got all pissed. that really sucks. he'd have been perfect.
