Happy St. Totteringham's Day, my fellow Gooners.

Ramsey and Ozil....my god. If we can find an elite DM replacement for Arteta I'd put that 3 against any central midfield in the world

@TheShortFuse
in honour of today's holiday, Arsenal fans enter into a rendition of "Tottenham Hotspur, it's happened again!"

We're a completely different team with those two on the field.
That said, I wish Ozil would be a little more direct. He still acts timid sometimes.

I agree. That's why we need the third guy in that midfield to be big and athletic so he and Ramsey can do the dirty work and let Ozil create the magic. Against the top teams Ozil doesn't have the temperament and Arteta is too slow, so Ramsey is left to try and control the midfield himself

A matic/fernandinho type player would be nice

And he just called me a wanker.

No doubt about it. It would be great if Everton lose against City on Saturday. 4th would be locked up with 2 matches left. It would be nice to be relaxed for the final 2 matches.
After the Villa disaster Opening Day, I'd have taken 4th and The FA Cup for sure.

They looked incredible tonight and Newcastle didn't have a chance. Definitely a great ending to my first game.

Agreed. Match was over before kick off.

When I go I am hoping for the same.
How was the Stadium and did you take pics?

Michael Bradley.

Roger Bennett did a piece on MB90 and which teams he could theoretically play for. Click it.
He says 15. Everton, Tottenham, Liverpool, Man City, and Chelsea would be the exceptions.

After watching the New Jersey-born star muscle in the Yanks' first goal and then use his head to create a second, I was struck by this question: With his fast-improving vision, consistent decision making, inventive passing and tireless pressing, how many Premier League starting lineups could Michael Bradley walk straight into right now?

Of the remaining 15, the biggest eyebrow-raiser would be Arsenal. Yet Arsene Wenger's arm-long injury list, which has claimed the erratic talent of Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott, the suspect fitness of Aaron Ramsey and the degrading returns of Mikel Arteta must all be factored into the equation. Though Arsenal fans may resent the suggestion that a Serie A-defecting MLS player could immediately slot into their first team, with the North Londoners' grip on fourth place so tenuous the Toronto FC midfielder would be an instant upgrade.

those are two pretty different players though

i don't resent that he's not good enough to be our starting DM.

I think a competition between Bradley, Arteta, and Flamini for that DM spot would be a lot closer than most British arsenal fans would be willing to believe.

Great game, good showing from all.
