LeBron would not survive a trip to Stoke on a cold Tuesday night.

Only if our best athletes played soccer

Imagine SEC men’s soccer

This one may be my favorite. "We suck at soccer because we're not developing anyone in college"

There’s still a decent amount of guys on the team who played in college.

Matt Turner, Sean Johnson, Tim Ream, Walker Zimmerman, Aaron Long, DeAndre Yedlin, Roldan, and Morris.

The more avenues you have for guys to play and develop, the better. Not sure why college soccer gets shite on. You’ve got one primary league and USL to try to develop soccer players in a nation of 350 million people. Some guys are gonna slip through the cracks, and college soccer helps catch some of those guys.

How many of them played more than a year

Serious question bc I don’t feel like looking it up

Playing a year before going pro after being in an academy is kinda like meh

You were not developed in college

That’s what Broski is getting at

College soccer has a role in being a last chance avenue for dudes with talent who weren't mature enough to hack it in academies.

Or you can have extremely special cases like Turner, where he didn't start playing soccer until high school and that was just to stay in shape for baseball and kind of stumbled his way onto becoming a soccer player.

But as the academies continue to grow (look at our u17 and u20 teams now), you're going to see less and less college soccer influence in the USMNT... and that's a good thing.

Yea those dudes would absolutely wreck college soccer

The writing was on the wall about college soccer really is when an average player in Manchester United’s academy absolutely went scorched earth in his only season playing in college soccer

I think Dike is a prime example of college soccer allowing a kid in a part of the country with no access to an academy get noticed. If he didn’t go to UVA no way he gets drafted into MLS.

The hope is that with the expansion of the MLS academy system players like him can have a club to go to instead. We should be on the last generation of players where college to MLS is a thing.

Harrison’s career resurgence is a positive for college soccer, imo.

His career has ended up much better than most non-superstars at the academy level.

Don't forget to add

"What if obj stuck with soccer? Wasn't he like the best player in the country before he chose football?"

And complete the bingo card if anyone mentions trumps son and if he has a chance to play for the USMNT in the future.

I saw a clip where they said, “oh man could you imagine if Calvin Johnson played goalie “

As if a goalie only has to catch a ball
