He doesn’t spend it on himself - in fact, from what I’ve heard, he still lives in some small house/apartment, sleeps at work, and drives an old Honda or Toyota

What are they irate over?
They are irate that people don't have access to the sight saving surgery outside of a charity project of a YouTuber. The anger described in the article is directed at the American system of health care, not the YouTuber. The article says that the comments made by viewers are that he should run for President and bring universal healthcare to the American people.3
And there's absolutely no suggestion that "the left" is involved in any way.

I knew it had to be MrBeast, dude does some cool shite on his channel. One of the largest, if not the largest subscriber base on YT. Check out the podcast he does with Rogan.

Yeah. They annoy me but he gives a ton of his money away like crazy.
On Rogan he says he takes loans on himself to make the shows and the videos make money back.
One of the funnier things he said on that interview was that he actually lied to his mom about his first semester at college and spent all that time learning how to make videos his first semester and then was turning a bit of a profit when he told his mom. She was pissed but he was profitable and bought her a house so she got over it.
