Republicans in large don't tend to be one item voters like other people out there. We can agree to disagree and still find a happy medium

What he posted IS being, and has been done for a long time. An assault weapon is a FULLY automatic firearm. These off-the-rack AR-15s are just semi-automatic rifles that LOOK like automatic military weapons. Nearly all the gun manufacturers make a standard (doesn't look military) semi-auto rifle for hunting and target shooting.
There's so much completely wrong info out there pertaining to firearms!

Yes. If we had common sense access.

You want common sense gun control? I want common sense access to Tanks, handheld anti-aircraft, chemical weapons, grenades, mines, lethal drones.

Who on God’s earth is against common sense weapons access?

I agree with him. There is no need for a civilian to own an assault rifle

People are fallible. Even Trump was wrong on several things.

Breaking News: Humans disagree on things

Elon’s position on AR-15s is pretty mainstream. More than 50% of Americans believe either they should be banned or that some sort of special training/permit should be required.

I agree with Elon. M-16s should require a special permit.

Neither qualify for hero status.

What is wrong with Elon and I having differing opinions on ANY matter?

He certainly sees electric cars differently than I.

This. “Assault Rifles” DO require a special permit in the USA.

So is this something the OP feels shouldn't be censored, since he agrees with it?

Besides, according to Biden, the gov't has F-15s. I wonder if they are fully automatic?

I only posted what he said, I never said I agree or disagree. This is called the facts. This thread has a violent life of its own. Not sure how everyone gets off, pretending to be mad at me, for posting what Elon said lol.

Unlike Libs, I don't want to remove all of his wealth and destroy him personally because I vehemently disagree with him.

Let's be honest. Elon probably doesn't know anything about guns. The "assault rifle" comment gave it away.

I care about how he runs twitter. He's not making gun regulation.

The right's fascination with purity tests is silly. Look how the left treats John Bolton now... there's a lesson there.

Pretty confident you have to have a class 3 license and a $200 federal tax stamp for “assault rifles”

Wouldn't surprise me if he knew exactly what an assault rifle is (or at least looked it up), gave an answer saying 'assault rifles should require a special permit' (which they do), and now sits back waiting for her to say "Elon agrees that AR-15 should require special permit", which is not what he said.

The Epoch Times

quote:

In response to a query about his thoughts on AR-15s, the weapon used in Tuesday’s mass shooting, Musk said, “Assault rifles should at minimum require a special permit, where the recipient is extremely well vetted [in my opinion].” By “assault rifles,” he meant “any semi-automatic gun with supersonic ammo and a large magazine,” Musk added.

I also like Musk but what he defined here would be very restrictive not just a full auto capable ARs or AKs.

Nah, you were intending on provoking folks as demonstrated by the “your hero” thing.
