You can’t expect a Desantis type to win and succeed in Virginia

I have no issue with this. NoVa liberals will have their masks while the rest of normal Virginians will not and everyone will be happy.

Decentralization is a good thing

Tbh with a State that is as unique as Virgina, I get it.

South Central VA-Rural NC
South and Western Virginia-West Virginia
North East Virgina-DC
Coastal VA-IDk? -Baltimore
Central Virginia-Closest to really Virginia

lol what?

You have to drive through DC to get to Baltimore from VA.

Unless you go through the Eastern Shore....which that's basically Salt-life Arkansas.

I can see how someone would use this logic if they were dumb enough to think every other state has the same political landscape as Florida.

This is how it should be, letting local government do their thing. It's then up to the people to get involved, to either vote in the right people or revolt.

My sons speech therapist told me the problems with kids speech has grown exponentially the past year.

She even said they tried requiring her to wear a mask during therapy. Think about that nonsense. A speech therapist has to wear a mask trying to teach a 3 year old how to talk. She said sure and then ignored it.

He’s telling the Democrats that if they want to torture his voters with COVID restrictions, they can go for it. And he’s telling his voters, I will not protect you.

It’s weakness.

People will simply vote with their feet. Pretty much what Trump did with most things and the media called him dictator. They (the media) actually wanted him toe use the National Guard for a lot of issues and he did not.

You think it is ok for government to trample on constitutional rights as long as it is done at the local level and call someone else mental? Tyranny is tyranny and has to be squashed at every level.

Small gov does not mean there is no government. It means less gov in people’s lives, and when there must be such a thing, it should be the states; not Feds.

States protecting it residents from tyranny (federal or local) IS conservatism which is what @GovRonDeSantis does on C19.

Whether you acknowledge it or not you are in a war for your rights. While you are sitting on your hands talking about muh principals the opposition is wielding power and using it against you.

Ehh he’s not making mandates. how it should be. And he’s against Biden mandating the country. That matters way more to me than if some county in Virginia want to wear chin diapers.

State governors have a responsibility to protect the individual liberties of all state residents.

Looks like a lot of people in this thread only want small government and freedom as long as it’s the small government and freedom they agree with.

Mandates are no form of freedom.

Don't get caught up. Set your expectations low. He's not Terry McAuliffe . . . that is enough.
