It’s always the left doing the things they claim Republicans are doing or wanting to do.

But Joe is too senile to remember any of that so can’t be held accountable. Checkmate

"Secure" Act 2.0 has quite a few employer law changes for increased funding of retirement plans and mandatories for employees. There's also a federal match to IRAs.

Isn't that also about the time they started raiding the SS Trust?

It's gonna be 'Means Testing.'
They've proposed it for years.
IE: If you retire today at age 65 and you have a net worth of 1 million dollars you forfeit your SS because you're 'fortunate.'
Keep in mind that most old people's net worth is their paid for house.

The utopia of politicians includes taking 99% of the money everyone else makes.

They could fund so many of their pet projects...and then some, if us peasants contributed 99% of our income to them.

I can envision couples splitting up on paper to protect assets or possibly buy gold for cash and stash somewhere safe. How can one safeguard or hide or disguise their net worth? Can one set up a foundation and hide money there?

Divorce is a legit SS planning tool. Married couple, both over retirement age each get benefits based on their lifetime earnings. Divorced couple both get benefits based on the higher of their or their ex's earnings.

Eliminating it is not the same thing as continuing to require SS payroll deductions but increasing taxes on SSI.

I would think most of you guys would like this. This refers to SSI benefits, not regular Soc. Sec. Retirement benefits.
SSI is paid to individuals with a disability who do not have a work history. SSDI is for people who are disabled, but have paid into the system.
