If tweet fails to load, click here. It's finally been proven that this was NOT a "conspiracy theory" as Democrats would have had you believe!
The US Attorney has officially confirmed that shops were set up with the sole purpose of exchanging SNAP benefits for cash.
A number of fake stores - including one as small as 150 square feet - were cashing out up to $480,000 in EBT per month... and there was a total of $7 million in food stamps turned into cash at two locations alone.
“Less than 150 square feet in size, smaller than some bathrooms — stores had one register, no carriages, no hand baskets”
“One legitimate supermarket in the same area as these stores redeems approximately $80,000 in and SNAP benefits per month. Over the last 20 months, the Juswala variety store was redeeming between 3-6x that amount monthly”
Not that this will come as a surprise, but the two fake convenient store owners caught were both from Haiti - not America.

Yep no shite.
A lot of things are set up to exploit food stamps. There are even drug dealers who accept food stamps as payment for drugs.

Glad it was found.
But damn that makes me angry.
There’s still so much fraud out there.

On a much smaller scale I volunteer at a local food bank. A good many of the recipients are on food stamps yet they sell them for 50 cents on the dollar and get their food from food banks, churches and other charities

Hopefully the Baton Rouge mayor and Louisiana governor will piggy back this momentum and tackle those issues that ARE happening in our state.

Been going on forever. An IGA owner in my hometown actually had to do some fed time in the 90s for buying back food stamps .50 on the 1.00.

Hahahhahaha anyone doubting this hasn’t stepped foot outside their suburb.

The USDA's discovery of a major food stamp fraud and bribery scheme has led to the arrest of a USDA employee and five others. The scheme, which allegedly resulted in over $66 million in unauthorized transactions, was made possible when USDA employee Arlasa Davis betrayed the public trust by selling confidential government information to the criminals she was supposed to catch. The fraud started in 2019 with the distribution of 160 unauthorized EBT cards to stores throughout New York, illegally processing more than $30 million in EBT transactions. The group also faced accusations of submitting fraudulent USDA applications, misusing license numbers, and falsifying documents to register unauthorized stores.

This is not a shocker. One of the main Indian store owners here in the Mecca went to prison for it 30 years ago.
He’s still building and buying stores to this day.
And accepting EBT.

Was this ever even a conspiracy theory? Anyone who interacts with the outside world knows this.
There are MANY scams associated with SNAP, welfare, Section 8, etc., - all of them common sense that anyone would assume would take place.
One of my favorites: You can't buy prepared foods with SNAP, so all these little convenience stores will allow them to buy "raw" food and then they cook it for "free" like pizzas, sandwiches, etc.

I guess living in the south you always knew this was going on.
Least shocking news I will hear all day.

There's almost nothing they won't lie about.

We all know and have known for a while. People with food stamps sell $300 worth of stamps to someone for $150. Too easy to scam. Food stamp cards need to only be able to purchase canned tuna, milk, and bread.

They've been doing it for years without having to set up shops.
Anyone who lives in a small town or near a trailer park, has seen the jobless white trash Nancy with 3 mixed kids, all three baby daddies in prison, but still somehow rocking a brand new Charger.
