Na. 63,000 posts isn't enough. Bailing out the city would be SFP rage bait money.

At first I thought the crazy leftists were legit people who were just nuts. Then I learned that most of the big ones (Krassenstein and all those guys) are just trolls who make up shite on purpose to piss people off. They make good money doing it, too.

You have to wonder about the "right wing" accounts like LibsofTikTok or EndWokeness as well. It is their job to post (since they post all day every day and seemingly have no day job).

Now there are legit people on there, but the biggest accounts tend to be shite stirrers just looking for engagement.

Sure, you get about 100% rage replies which is deserved.

Slow flow is probably only slightly lower. Maybe 97% and he has 420,000 more posts.

Bold prediction. Social media will soon just be one AI platform arguing with a different AI platform. People will circle back to talking on phones, meeting in person and writing actual notes and letters.

Na. Most 35 and under don't know how to write. Hell, most of them don't know what cursive is.

Their job is to keep you angry and engaged with the site.

If it’s a slow news day then amplify some anecdotal last page news from England or wherever, with some inflammatory commentary, that will keep people pissed off.

That is the model. Those with critical thinking skills understand that and aren’t trapped in the algorithm.

Same thing happened to Facebook about 10 years ago. They were basically under attack by a giant Russian psy-op. Zuck got rid of it. Why can’t Elon?

The amount of Fake News from Twitter that gets posted here already with a community note attached to it is ridiculous. It’s a weekly occurrence.

I love when Timeoday, FLTech, and Placekicker post a Fox News clip from two years ago as if it was breaking news because Pepe's Grandma on Twitter recently posted it.

It's the rehash for clicks on slow news days that annoys me.

Post the story with key details, and let people discuss it. No need to act like some clip from 5yrs ago just happened, without stating the age.

It’s become a bit of a free for all but still plenty of legitimate useful news and information if one is willing to find it.

I do not agree at all if your contention is things used to be much better under the the old tightly monitored and not very DJT-friendly Twitter days.

There are negatives to this approach but they're a helluva lot better than the negatives produced by the alternative, where gatekeepers decide what's rightspeak and what isn't.

I don't do Twatter/"X". It seems to have always been a cesspool and it didn't take long to figure it out.

IG is kinda a dumpster fire too, but the algorithm seems more friendly IMO. I follow people like Steven Kuhn, Grant Stinchfield and Nick Frietas, and it does a pretty good job of only giving me similar content (at least for now) and filtering out the noise.

I don't engage though, I just mostly lurk and occasionally post pictures of successful fishing trips. What's odd is that FB and IG are both Meta, but the FB algorithm seems far more hostile and blatantly biased than that of IG.
