With that said, all of you who think the country would be better off without California are delusional.
It's not a question of "better off." It's a question of their own self-determination.

no, I'd take up arms to force them out though

People here very much underestimate the value California provides to the country

If it were to happen I'd prefer our real military be pulled from the shitholes they are in to secure any such measures.

According to the SF Chronicle, CA is in debt to the tune of over $400B.
Plus,
lol they aren't going anywhere on their own. They are going to need a bailout from the US govt not too far down the road.

No. As a Southerner, I could not support the invasion of a fellow state.
I don't think the South was right in the Civil War. But I can't see what was done to us done to someone else. I sit this one out.

Considering they pay most of the fly over states budgets with their tax contributions, no one is letting them go.

I hear Colorado River water can be very expensive.

frick no. I would however take up arms with the Californians that want to split California in half and stay in the Union(should that happen, of course.

I would take up arms to force them to leave only so long as we built a wall and wouldn't let the lip cards back in!

I'd help them pack
These fackers are going nowhere, unfortunately, too much money to lose

That is true. Short-run, it would hurt economically.
But, CA has water issues..serious water issues. And energy issues. Guess offshore drilling will be reconsidered.
Of course, they could buy both from the USA....

Do we get to keep the conservative parts of California?
We might have to take up arms to keep them IN the union (after all California couldn't survive without their "forced tribute"--taxation)

I would not participate in a civil war of any type. But I would be interested in the dumbass Americans who are willing to die for such a cause. Could have a cleansing affect. Maybe we're overdue for some culling of extremists on both ends of the political spectrum.
