re: Would you consider converting to Mormonism in order to regain what we have lost?

The two times I’ve been to Provo, it’s been two of the most magical evenings of my life. I mean that very seriously - it’s like a real life Disney World full of clean cut, happy, perfectly wholesome kids and large families. It’s otherworldly - these beautiful families with 4 or 5 kids going from dinner to Baskin Robins (you wouldn’t believe the lines at the BR closest to campus - it’s straight out of a 1980’s movie). Practically no crime, booming economy, most everybody is fit and successful.
Anyhow, I know that Mormonism is a batshit crazy pseudo version of Christianity, but I tell you what - if they are left alone in their little Disney World for another 50 years (it seems like they have gotten to keep their values and are mostly left unmolested by leftist overreach) while the rest of the US crumbles, I think it would be a pretty clever escape hatch to consider. Saying a few half-hearted prayers to Joseph Smith while you enjoy some of the last vestiges of vintage Western culture here in America sounds a lot better than having your daughter become a lesbian or your feminist wife turn on you and take half your net wealth.
This is amazing. I am so impressed by how based this board is. It's starting to rival 4chan

I (and a lot of people like me) are more interested in Christianity as a vessel to protect western culture and honor our shared European heritage. And in that respect, Mormonism has shone while traditional Christianity has failed spectacularly - particularly over the last 30 years.
So true.

Mate, what happened to your eastern bloc lady?
Posted on 9/16/21 at 12:25 pm to SirWinston
Idk much about Mormonism, but whatever they're doing is working tremendously. And I'll also add that they all look so vibrant and healthy. The women... The women alone would make any guy consider converting, and they're all virgins who want to get married and have lots of children.
I mean you do you, but I'm looking at this pretty seriously

Absolutely not...because compromising truth, moral/faith based principles, and selling your soul is exactly what we are losing! You would be making a lateral move here Sir Winston!
I can tell from your experience that you like this "oasis" but these are all trappings the Bible warned us of when it says the road to destruction is wide and the path to righteousness is narrow!

I actually started dating a mormon girl about 3 weeks ago.
As I've gotten to know her, and a few family members, I can tell you they are some of the most hardworking and nice people I have encountered. Their non-religious beliefs align with mine pretty closely, and I like the traditional values we share.
Has she tried to convert me? Slowly, but no "sealed" talks yet.
I'm taking things one day at a time, but I've enjoyed dating her thus far.

This Board is like LSU football; able to accomplish THE most astounding season in CFB history, and then going totally off the rails of rationality and mediocrity. It holds true that “everything woke goes to hell” (or something like that). We’ll get through it, and be better for it. I hope.

I refused to date Mormon girls. They were pretty. But I heard tell that you could get them pregnant just by shaking hands and saying "Hi."

Marrying young has a lot of advantages. More time to have kids.

This was me 48 years ago.
If the young lady knows her religion, she also knows that she CAN NOT convert you. She can only share with you, what has made her what you have come to admire and appreciate in her.
Conversion, comes only through the promptings of the Holy Ghost/Spirit.
She knows these things.
I've been with my Mormon girl for 48 years now.
Like Hank Williams Sr. sang so long ago, "I saw the light I saw the light. No more darkness no more night. Now I'm so happy no sorrow in sight. Praise the Lord I saw the light."
They are truly Pearls of Great Price.

I understand your concept and accept it.
It is a perspective of how Jesus and Satan are both creations.
I believe that sometimes people feel like they have to be perfectly rigid about perspectives in that way.
love and understanding, to me, allow mine alongside yours. I vetted it in 1.5 minutes. Anyone could.
I believe that sometimes people get an idea that they hear about or misintepret - and they develop the rigid dogma.
Love God. Love Jesus. Live accordingly. Hate the antics and evil of satan and work to hinder and stand in satans way.
See. The important part is easy and we partner for and against the right things to be for and against.
NOW every other difference needs the same vetting and understanding. Welcome scrutiny and discussion of interpretations.
