I mean, unless you’re planning on doing something bad or illegal, why would you be worried about this? You have nothing to worry about if you’re doing things right.

Yes. They are used to reduce crime.

There’s some justification for LPR use at a church but I’m not sure it’s enough. Maybe this one has or had some challenges and felt Flock would be of use. No idea of their situation.

You are dead sure they are flock?

Flock doesn’t have an AI component that would read faces or identify someone holding a gun. Could it be other more advanced camera systems.

Flock is only good for LPR and an additional service add on that has the ability to identify gunshots.

Flock cameras are now fully equipped to track all cell phones, AirPods, smart watches (basically any tech device), and the reason is terrifying. SignalTrace “links devices that regularly travel together, correlating them to [a] license plate.”

SignalTrace enables Flock camerias to sweep up unique identifiers of mobile phones, wearables, and other Bluetooth-enabled devices, to develop profiles tied to individual vehicles. An electronic fingerprint it you will, tying every device you own (or are frequently near) to one singular identity.

Do you want to live under surveillance while out in public and have no choice in the matter?

You can leave your phone home, or get a non-smart phone. Or no phone at all.

I didn’t agree to be under surveillance from a 3rd party in order to help the police.

Remember when it was a ‘crime’ in some places to leave your house during covid?

We are slipping down the slope of “I don’t do anything illegal; therefore, I don’t mind cameras.”

Ok. I simply answered your question.

Arkansas used Flock data to bust a drug dealer moving drugs across the state. The trooper caught the dude lying about his travels and called in the drug dog.

Busted. Rather large amount too.

It'll be great for the next time the Government want to shut down "church" after the next incoming Pandemic, EMP, attack etc... hits.

They can be sure to track us all next time.

Too bad they didn't have this technology during covid. Imagine how well they could have locked people down with this technology. They'll know instantly who you are with, how much time you spent with them etc.

And if you aren't following those lock down rules, we'll be able to get you instantly since we always know your location.

We can also make sure we restrict the people who say things online that don't have the proper messaging further. They deserve it.

Call me crazy, but I'd rather have a high trust society than this dystopian bullshite. Anyone who thinks it won't be used against them in the future is an idiot.

Yes, why is everyone so scared of a camera?

Those are add ons. The cameras don’t do that. A camera can only take pictures.

I would be surprised if a church is attempting to gather cell phone data.

You do now, every single day. Every business has cameras that capture store front and parking lots which extend to roadways.

You are always being recorded in public.

Not defending Flock.

There are already CCTV cameras on almost every block in any major city. There are millions of ring cameras on houses in every neighborhood in the country. If you think you're going out in public and not being recorded by a camera, you're about 20 years too late.

Yes, but law enforcement (government) doesn't have unrestricted access to them. There has to be an actual crime committed and 4th amendment protections apply for them to access them.
