Proper school security keeps exterior doors locked at ALL times. Even if that wasn't the case with this school-- When a lockdown is announced, teachers IMMEDIATELY lock their classroom doors. In our school the tiny window in the door had a shade we would pull down when we pulled the door shut/locked so a shooter couldn't see inside the room. These things occur within 30-60 seconds after lockdown announced.

From what I read yesterday, a border patrol agent decided he was no longer waiting for backup and went in and killed the shooter. I assume they were told to wait for a SWAT team or something similar. The agent was shot in the leg.

Nah, that story is bullshite. There was no gun fight where he crashed his truck. Because if there had been he would have been taken out. WTF? these cops didn't know what was going on when they see a kid entering a school with a gun and seconds later a .223 is blazing away in a classroom. It would have taken the stupidest person in the entire world not to figure this one out.
