I’m not sure if I’m just noticing it more and it’s always been around or if there really is more hate in it. Mainly younger people and it seems by and large they don’t really understand what capitalism even is other than they hate it for some reason. And profits too, for some reason they despise profits and view it as evil and the source of the worlds ills. So bizarre.

I used to work with this little (well actually big) girl waiting tables that went to ULM a few years back. She was from Arkansas but somehow got to go to ULM for free due to income which I never understood but she was like that. Her major was psychology and when I asked what she wanted to do when she graduated she said “I dunno I just want to work at a nonprofit”. I asked doing what and she said she wasn’t sure yet, just that she knew she wanted to work at a nonprofit. Wtf?? I couldn’t tell if she was just stupid and didn’t understand the concept of a profit or had something against them for some reason, it just struck me as odd that she didn’t care what she worked so long as she didn’t make a profit. I asked if I could have her tips at the end of the shift and she said no...

This thought process seems to be all over the place though. And they think billionaires will pay for everything. Apparently if you tax the wealth from all the country’s billionaires it’s enough to pay for everything we could all possibly want and then some. And the idea that they didn’t work for their money and it’s owed to the rest of us.

The owners of nonprofits make pretty damn good money. A concept that is beyond your friend.

Yeah I don't get it. Two things I won't be talked out of: money can fix just about any problem, and it can buy you happiness....true happiness.

Boomers and GenX raised shitty children who throw tantrums when they don’t get what they want.

Yep. Non-profits still make tons of money. They just put all the money back into the company in the form of more salary, investments, exec bonuses, etc.

I’ve had this conversation with a guy at work. He was confusing capitalism with corporatism. These people take issue with big corporations taking advantage of people. Ironically low tariffs encourage corporatism, and these are the people who think Trump screwed up on tariffs.

1a) We don’t teach anything of actual importance about our country and it’s founding principles in schools at any level.

1b) No one in the United States under 30 has any real recollection of the ideological and geopolitical conflicts which dominated the 20th Century.

The thing they don’t seem to grasp is that when everyone becomes equally miserable under their plan there won’t be any upper class taxpayers and individuals to foot the bill anymore. They are killing the goose that lays the golden egg

I used to be in the mortgage business. I did dozens of loans for CEOs/Presidents of nonprofits. It is really disgusting when you compare the income to the amount of money put to the use. All cloaked under the concept of nonprofit.

Exactly!

A completely simplified example: Non-profit takes in $1M. It's run by 2 people who each pay themselves $500K. Bingo, zero profit.

Because they are malcontents and lazy derelicts who don’t want to work or do anything meaningful with their lives.

Stopping here in my reading to note that if she does not at least get a Masters degree her BS is worthless.

Russia and Chinas subversion for many years here has won out. They have created the infighting and disruption. It’s paying off bigly.

1. Piss poor education, and that's across the board - history, economics and math, which pretty much makes about 60% of high school graduates and 40% of college graduates economic illiterates.

2. The shrinking of the middle class. Even if a high school/college grad escapes the liberal factories somewhat unscathed, their economic prospects aren't as good as their parents. I've read that this generation is the first American generation to confront this, and it makes sense it has some young people questioning the value of the system.

3. I question whether the brand of capitalism we practice today is as competitive as it once was. Some tinkering might be in order.

I couldn't be more thankful that my economics professors in college were of the Austrian school of thought. The hatred of capitalism has generated from ignorance and jealously. Progressives have taught the youth to be so close-minded that they will not even consider hearing an opposing view.

I don't think that is accurate. There is a shrinking of lower middle class. But middle class and what would be upper middle class are growing (thus the shrinking lower middle class)

Losers band together and buy into the redistributionists message that we'll all be equally miserable under their system. They don't care if everyone is poor as long as the gap between top and bottom is narrow.

They can't stand successful capitalism where the "poor" have hundreds of cable channels, smartphones, big screen TVs, the works, the middle class live in the lap of luxury and a few folks do very well and own islands and megayachts. Just chaps their hide for some reason.

I never understood loserism, despite being a late bloomer myself.

Funny this is these people bitch about capitalism on social media sites using their iPhones and wearing branded clothing while simultaneously shopping on Amazon.

They frequently use and enjoy products of capitalism while also wanting to tear it down
