One of those critics is Jonathan V. Last, a Never Trump conservative and a columnist for the conservative website The Bulwark. , In his scathing December 22 column Last argues that DeSantis’ response — or lack thereof — to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s December 21 visit to the United States speaks volumes about the Florida governor’s priorities and underscores his lack of substance.

What did Trump say

That they should come to terms already and that this would never have happened under him

I believe the Ukraine/Russia conflict never happens if Trump is president…..because the Afghanistan Withdrawal Debacle doesn’t happen either under a Trump presidency.

Well come to find out Ukraine is nothing but a money laundering scheme stealing money from American people giving it to politicians across the world

Maybe the governor of Florida's priorities are Florida instead of being bullied into taking a side on every damn thing ever

Ukraine is Mitch and the GOPe's shitshow. They have been all too eager to make common cause with Biden and Democrats on this issue. DeSantis isn't going to wade into it. He knows the MAGA base is pissed off.

Also, a lot could change with respect to Ukraine so best to wait and see how things play out.

I'm on vacation but checking in every once and awhile.

This is an interesting post however. DeSantis is getting attacked from DC monied interest here. They are mad he is not outwardly falling in line with Uniparty support for Ukraine spending. He's not receiving fire from MAGA on this issue.

That “criticism” seemed fake to me. Labeling Desantis as a MAGA candidate is suspicious. I think it was faux criticism to give Desantis a separation from the GOPe which is really his only weakness.

I agree with this. I'm critical of Trump's otherwise GOPe record, but on foreign policy he was great.

That does absolutely nothing because we will continue paying all the while.

I don't give a shite who DeSantis supports in this war as long as the American taxpayer is his top priority.

Right now, the taxpayer is being shite on for the cult of Zelensky.

Exactly. Biden goaded Putin into war by announcing

RUSSIA WILL INVADE then Russia didn't.

Then Biden said

any day now Russia will invade-just you mother frickin wait you'll see.

Then it leaked through trash WaPo or the Axios or NYTimes that Biden's trashy admin had the IC tell Putin that Biden was announcing Ukraine joining NATO.

Then Putin finally invaded. Giving Biden and the Big E's a new boogie man and money laundering scheme w/ big payoffs to the MIC.

It has nothing to do with his governance of the State of Florida, and he is not currently a Presidential Candidate, so he really shouldn't have anything to say on it.

All of this.

I don't disagree with you.

What I am saying is that the shitshow that is Ukraine is principally of Biden and Mitch's making. DeSantis had no say in the decisions that have been made so why would he put himself out there? I think his silence clearly indicates he knows it's a shitshow....otherwise he would be proclaiming it from the rooftops like the other GOPe Neo-cons who think Zelensky is a freedom fighter and Ukraine is a noble cause. Also - Ukraine remains a volatile situation and there are a lot of ways this could go so its better to watch developments than box yourself in.

I want Trump in 2024. And if not Trump, a non-politician outsider like Trump.

Ron DeSantis is NOT like Trump.
