Why "On Election Day"?

I get not wanting to trust the USPS. I personally voted in person last week.

But a lot of the optimism comes from Republicans saying they will vote in person ON ELECTION DAY.

If you have 10 possible days to vote, why would you wait until the very last day? What if you have an emergency come up?

And if it's really true that Republicans are going to be this overwhelming force on Tuesday, wouldn't the rioters be smart to cause a conflict on that day?

That's a severe violation state and federal laws and would be dealt with swiftly and harshly.

I like to experience the day and get a vibe for it all.

Because I like the tradition and feeling of voting on election day with many other Americans. It's a climactic action of living in a true Democracy.

Tradition.

I voted early.

It's an American tradition.

My Dad is this way, he is semi-retired and could early vote any day of the week.

He said he wants to cast his vote on election day.

There are a lot of people (many GOP) who are like this.

It’s the difference between attending an event over a zoom call (No thanks) or attending it in-person for me. Whatever happens, I’d rather be there for it.

In my case it is because the polling station is two minutes from my house and it will take me
less than 10 minutes to vote. If I went and voted early or “absentee” I would have to drive 25 minutes and go through a security check to vote at our registrar of voters which is located in our parish courthouse. That is why I wait for election day.

I don’t like giving campaigns any idea as to what’s going on. Early voting should be illegal because it can be used as a disenfranchising tool.

Not in Dem controlled areas. Police would be ordered to stand down and damage would be done to the perception of voting safely nationally before the Feds could mobilize.

For the "Republicans have jobs" folks - what if something comes up at work on Tuesday?

I didn’t.
Apart from the maelstrom that blew through the day I voted, it felt no different than voting on Election Day, in terms of importance.

I vote early for the exact reason you stated: Life happens, and you never know what can come up/prevent you from getting to the polls on Nov. 3.

It’s in my neighborhood and I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes. That’s why.

Driving completely across town and waiting in a long line sounds miserable to “vote early”.

One reason is to not let the Dems know how many votes need to be manufactured to overcome any deficit. See Stewart Smalley election......

Many will go very early before work, during lunch, or after work on the way home.

I've voted well into the evening before and the polls are still plenty busy.

A polling location with mostly Republicans sounds fine.

Like I’m voting on PT.

Maybe because the closest early voting location is 6 miles from my house while my election day precinct is located less than a half mile from my house.

And the lines were longer at that early voting location than they will be at my precinct.

Is that good enough reason for you?
