More proof that being “educated” does not make you smart…

You're giving me way too much credit here.
I'm a dog chasing a car.
I don't know what I have in mind. I just know it ain't this.

In some ways, yes. But in large part, if people do their research on the places they are applying, that goes a long way. Nothing wrong when seeking a job about inquiring how they see your expectations for your moving ahead.
Asking how often they promote, etc. Or asking what they like to see in candidates that meet promotion.
Kids today will jump at the job offering the most money, and then wonder why after a year or two they aren't happy. Often times because younger folks think they know more than people who have been in the game for a season or two.

Rents climb faster than salaries. Taxes eat away their paychecks. Buying a home feels impossible.
Democrat policies caused the majority of this.
They want to allow rampant illegal immigration into the US. Those illegal immigrants need places to live and take up US housing. More demand for housing = higher rent / home prices
Then those illegals need jobs and will work cheaper than Americans, which suppresses wages. And don't forget about all the jobs that have gotten outsourced to other countries and Dems fight Trump's attempts at tariffs to level the playing field for companies who manufacture their products in the US. More people competing for fewer jobs = lower wages.
Basic law of supply and demand.

I haven’t see that attitude very much. I have seen it some but it’s the exception and not the rule. The truth is business culture, especially corporate culture has changed dramatically over the last 20 years and these companies don’t give a rat’s arse about their employees. They won’t think twice about paying $200k for corporate coaches every year but they’ll wring their hands over a project making half a point less in profit while still raking in more profits than ever.

I can understand that because it's all very complex and nobody knows the right solution with 100% certainty. My philosophy is that the root cause of our problems is debt. Without it, the govt couldn't have distorted our economy and our society to the extent they have. People, of any political persuasion, who support expanding govt, or even maintaining the current size of govt, are making a mistake IMO. There's a hard road ahead even if it we make good choices. If we make bad choices there is no road ahead.

Agree with some of the sentiment here, but his prescription will give us more of it not less.
NYC is expensive because of taxes and unnecessary regulations. More of it won't help.

I wouldn't have voted for him, but I feel this. We're getting stolen from at every corner, we watch them steal it, misuse it, launder it, all the while demanding more.
The middle class is drowning an this guy threw out a life preserver. Will he deliver, of course not, but the messaging was clearly received.

I like it, it has some fricking legs. Go with it man.
ETA debt is absolutely responsible for a lot of problems. Whether it was Jekyll island and the Fed or whatever.
You reminded me of a point that I forget so often.
I think a large part of our problem is that we were told how noble Washington and the founders were. When in reality, they were already the elite Americans. Their issue wasn't giving a frick about the common man, their issue was other rich fricks were taking their money.
I think when you reframe it like that, sooooooo many things start making sense.

Born on third and think they hit a triple.
The unwarranted arrogance of that generation knows no end.
Well that's not true. In 20 years, most of them, if not all will be dust

Government: The cause of, AND SOLUTION TO, all our problems.
When will we learn?

People think prior generations had it so much easier but they didn’t. You can be happy without a lot of the toys, gadgets, and streaming services in this world. Cars have gotten ridiculous. Big SUV’s are large trucks have gotten ridiculous.

He ran against a guy who had to resign his governorship for sexual harassment, and another guy who wears berets unironically. Truly a mystery.

The problem is, Mamdani intends on taking even more from these struggling working people to give to do nothings

i guess the sentiment is that "the system is broke, we'll try anything".
that sentiment gets president trump elected but also other candidates who don't conform to the status quo (like muslim socialists with no real-world experience).
