BOO!! "Flat Earth!"

Admit it. You're threatened by new ideas and advanced thought. You can't compete on that intellectual playing field and have nothing to add to the convo. Change out your Tampax. Pip a midil. Then try the OT. That's more your speed.

True, Hank. And I embrace it.

But then there are plenty of us who understand our true realm / world.

the lawyers have a different idea of what defamation is in this case versus Sandman.

The law is essentially the same, with minor differences across the states. The facts are quite different. For a plaintiff to prevail, the law and the facts must align. They did not align for Sandman. They DID align for the Sandy Hook parents. This is not complex stuff.

And the lawyers dance with words. As they always do. Does it ever get tiring pretending that you’re right solely by manipulating language? Do you have no internal moral compass?

You are a hard poster to figure. Sometimes you display flashes of something approaching "intelligence," and then you make a post like this. Baffling.

What the heck do you claim that I "manipulated." My words (quoted again above) are simple and concise. Even simpler:

Even when the law is the same, different facts can yield different results.

Same reason Richard Jewell and Nicholas Sandman did. Essentially the plaintiff was saying that Jones was saying that his child was not the victim of Lanza's rampage and that he along with other parents that day were nothing more than paid actors.

The question is whether or not Jones ever said or intimated that it was only what he believed. If he had said "I believe....." there probably is not a case

So who did he defame, and how do they prove he defamed anyone by having an opinion? An opinion shared by many, myself included, on the basis of a huge list of bizarre "coincidences" that no one seems to have a logical explanation for.

That's not even getting into the seemingly fake behavior of the purportedly grieving parents

Holy shite

Either you are incredibly naive or stupid....possibly both. You should really cut back on the mushrooms and the pulls of shine from that Mason jar.

The problem with conspiracy types is that the truth being so simple runs counter to your belief and you don't want to face it. You want to believe that the government is so hell bent on taking away your 2nd Amendment Rights that they will go to ridiculous lengths to do it. You would never entertain that Lanza was an incredibly troubled young adult suffering from Autism (Aspergers) who was essentially ignored by both his mother and father because he was hard to deal with. So he found a way to lash out. With devastating effect and consequence.

Alex Jones picks up on the fact that there is a paranoid subset and played to them for sensational purpose. No one other than Adam Lanza is ultimately responsible for that day's actions. But Mom and Dad certainly fertilized the ground for that day.....especially the Dad. The federal government or the state government did not have a role in that day. They just merely were there to clean up the mess....then tried to score political points.

Yeah. Obvi.
That’s not what you’ve argued really. That’s just what you’re saying when you have to say something coherent to resolve your difference in statements between Sandman and Alex Jones.

The facts of the two cases (Sandman v. Alex Jones) are not the same. Pointing that out is not manipulating language.

Sure. The facts of any cases are never the same.

You all approached the cases differently. And not because of the “facts of the case.” If you can be honest with yourself, that’s self-evident.

Impossible. Should be a nuisance settlement. I’ve already learned that.

Link examples of that, or even just explain how the approach was different. I didn’t even comment or follow Jones’ case at all until the default judgment was handed down and then the compensatory damage ruling yesterday.

I’m curious to see how I approached this differently than the Sandman case (which I also did not comment on or follow). Hell, I had to Google Sandman because I thought he got a payout. I didn’t even know he lost until I read your comments telling me I took opposite positions

Couple of nuisance settlements and then the dismissals. He made some amount of $$$, but not much.

What about him?
You took the position that the press couldn’t defame people in that case. I assume that’s changed now.
