I would speculate that American Christians care more about the fate of Israel than many American Jews.

I care about Israel because God cares about Israel and its nation will play a primary role in end time events.

Another group that voted for Obama four/eight years ago that voted for Trump (helped him in Florida).

It would seem like nonsense that such a small insignificant country would be so talked about and take up about 50% of the U.N.'s time. And it would seem like non sense that the Jews as a people would be universally despised and percecuted. But only if it were non sense, and not planned.

Israel is probably history's greatest example of a self-fulfilling prophecy, at least in terms of scale.

So the Jews forced people to hate and persecute them so vehemently throughout history? Interesting.
I bet they wish they knew how to curtail that!

I have never understood why Jews vote largely Democrat, when they share so many values with conservative Republicans. Not religion, obviously, but most everything else.

Which values do I share with Conservatives?

Eta: or as I should have said today's Conservatives?

Every major geo-political event involving Israel over the last thousand years has, on a fundamental level, been driven by a belief in its religious/prophetic significance from the perspective of Christians, Jews and Muslims. It's the very definition of a self-fulfilling prophecy.

On the plus side for Republicans compared to 2012, the Jewish vote was up 2% for Trump than it was for Romney. So maybe the Republicans are getting a better grip on the Jews.

Hence I said "many" and not "all"

And that's just based on a sample set of people I know personally

I have had this discussion IRL for 50 years with my Jewish friends and the best explanation I've heard is as follows: Democrats sell themselves as champions of minority rights and protectors against 'tyranny of the majority.' Jews are the smallest minority in the US. This is why they are wary of the Christian majority and favor organizations like the ACLU and the Southern Poverty Law Center. I know Jews with college degrees who are convinced the KKK is alive and kicking everywhere. You could call it paranoia.

A super deplorable former friend of mine says its that the Jewish cabal that runs our banking media and entertainment industries and owns most politicians basically wants the other races to be in constant conflict and thus seeks to destabilize European democracies.

They are so pro-Palestinian and just pro-Muslim in general. With this last stunt by Obama, will any US Jews defect to repubs?

There are Jews....and there are "Jews". There is a difference. Many people have appropriated being Jewish for influence and power in name only.

Some in the US support policies of destabilizing the Middle East to protect the homeland by shipping refugees to the US & away from Israel. Certainly, in every self identified "group", there are those in it who care nothing for America except what they can use her for to further their main agenda.

Didn't the End Times already occur in 68 AD under Nero's reign? Wasn't Nero the anti--Christ that John of Patmos was describing when the end times were occurring in those days?

Seriously, the Evangelical notion that the end of times hasn't occurred yet seems more like a new age perspective, because Preterism was the traditional perspective on Revelations.

I hope this does not violate terms talking about religion, but it seems relevant to this topic. I seriously want to know when the eschatological view changed among Christians' perspective on the End Times, which already happened under Nero's reign.
