Why do areas almost 100% white lean heavily left and communist.

It's the weirdest thing.

Meanwhile the most diverse states with people of all races are the most conservative.

Um, what?

Only two states had Trump winning all of their counties in 2016. That was West Virginia and Oklahoma. It doesn't get much whiter than that.

Rich liberals lean that way because they don’t have to live with their political decisions. Easy to be liberal in Vermont

A better indicator is population density.

The higher it is the more blue it tends to be

You talking about the south? Quite honestly it is because everyone has lived together for so long and come to understand each other a little better, especially in the rural areas...

How many Natives do you think vote? I feel like most of them don't view it worthwhile and just stay on their tribal land where they can rule themselves.

They don’t have to leave the reservation to vote.

Buying votes on tribal land is how people like Tom Daschle (D-SD) stayed in power for so long.

portland

quote:

Race/Ethnicity 80.5% are whites; 2.9% black; 0.9% are American Indian or Alaska Native; 4.9% are Asian, 0.3% are Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander, 4.1% are some other race, 3.3% are two or more races. The Hispanic or Latino make up 8% of the total population.

and seattle

There is a giant urban vs suburban/rural divide in this country.

Maine isn’t that leftist. It leans blue and is turning purple. Has a moderate GOP Senator.

Vermont is fat left. Minnesota has been but is getting close to purple as well.
