NATO is a defensive alliance. Neither the US nor any other member nation would have to enter into a conflict instigated by another member nation.

Again, so what? NATO is a DEFENSIVE alliance. If Montenegro initiates an armed conflict with Russia, neither the US nor any other NATO member is obligated to get involved.

It is factually incorrect. If any conflict broke out because of hostility on their part, NATO members could use that as justification to stay out.
