If this was a positive for republicans in any possible way they wouldn’t have voted for it. Trust me, they didn’t vote for this to help Matt Gaetz push the Republican party to the right.

Exactly. DEMs don't operate like that.

Speaker will distract voters and pull the attention off the border crisis, Hunter and Joe's corruption, inflation and the economy.

BS, and how many hours a day, or seconds in a year, does the MSM spend talking about these issues

according to MSM

border crisis - there is no crisis at the border.

Hunter and Joe's corruption - there is no corruption to talk about, its all made up untrue lies from republicans.

inflation - we still cant even call the 2 year long recession, an actual recession.

economy - the economy is great, best economy ever in the last 50 years and bidenomics saved us

Maybe to sow further discord and division in the Republican Congress and the Republican voter base, and hell they get to put up their own candidate for Speaker now too. I don’t see how it’s avoidable, but there’s surely something I’m missing on this, but if you have a fractured Republican side, and a unified Democrat side, even with the Republican majority how do the Democrats not slip their hater arse hater nominee in there for the win?? It’s unfathomable to think, a Republican majority with Democrat Speaker of the House.

I pray the Republicans come together and vote for a Speaker with a fricking spine that’s willing to go scorched Earth on the left and deep state.

When your opponent in a two-party system is undergoing a philosophical schism threatening to divide the party and dilute their collective power to get things done, you let them

Because they want Jefferies as Speaker, and though it will assuredly not happen, the door is open again.

It also allows the Republican look like a chaotic mess, which isn't far from the truth. They get a legitimate "put the adults back in charge" statement out of all of this.

What’s there to figure out?

When your opponent is putting on a total clown show of ineptitude, you don’t get in the way. You grab popcorn.
