Well. If her people hate not being "free" enough, they will revolt. How many revolutions has Russia had? A country that large won't work under democracy. It's simply too large.
You think America is diverse? We don't have shite on the diversity of Russia. There are simply way too many different cultures and ethnic groups in Russia for a democracy to flourish. Not to mention the sheer size of the country. Ruling with an iron fist is the only way to rule Russia.

Russia needs an external entity/enemy to blame for its failure, to keep Putin in power. A Russian relationship with America is risky for Putin unless it pays dividends quickly.

Russia is fighting the globalist beast right now. We should be friends with them. But we are under the thumb of the globalist machine pretty hard right now. Many people are fully indoctrinated and can't see past the mainstream vision they've been taught.
