I take way too much ibuprofen. I’m thinking about just switching to not being a huge pussy.

Any reason you can't take Aleve? Seems to work a little better while taking less. But it's not perfect either I'm sure.

It's good stuff, taken as seldom as possible.

I try to limit myself to taking it once a week, twice at the most. Definitely not everyday.

I don't have a medical background, and I rarely have to take anything, but I've had great results from taking Ibuprofen.

Ibuprofen is associated with increased miscarriage risk in the 1st Trimester, and significant fetal anomalies (Premature PDA closure) later.

I used to take ibuprofen way too much.

I decided about a year ago to stop taking any OTC pain medicine. Ibuprofen, Tylenol, and aspirin. None of these things can be good long term and it’s not worth it just for a slight headache or sore knees.

Drink plenty of water. Get your sleep. Take your vitamins.

No NSAIDs are recommended for use by pregnant women. They come with a slew of risks to the mother and baby.

Excessive use of aspirin during the Spanish flu pandemic is believed to have contributed to a higher death toll, as high doses were linked to serious complications like pulmonary edema.

Many patients were prescribed dangerously high amounts, which may have worsened their symptoms and increased mortality rates.

Years ago I got a horrible sore throat at the beach. I went through a whole box of tylenol cough and cold/flu capsules. Went for regular blood work for lipids a few weeks after getting home and doc had a fit seeing my liver numbers were way up. Asked me if i had taken tylenold lately. i said a month ago. So she gave me something to treat that. Now I have early stage of kidney disease. Went in for horrile frozen shoulder that only advil would help. He said quit Advil forever and only use tylenol. I would have died with the shoulder pain without either of them to help, well, until the steroid medicine kicked in. But that isn’t good either. Ughlllll

Tylenol is also a fever reducer, not just pain med. that’s a very important differentiator.

Ibuprofen should not be taken during pregnancy, especially at or after 30 weeks gestation, because it increases the risk of premature closure of the fetal ductus arteriosus

Which I believe is implantation? Anyway, thanks for the more medically correct info

Tylenol is bad for your liver. I had 3 months early this year a ruptured low disc and pretty much bed ridden for much of the time. I took the maximum Tylenol bottle recommended daily and flunked the liver function test badly. After 6 weeks no Tylenol liver function test is normal.
Tylenol for a couple days/week is okey, but continuous usage is worse than a fifth of bourbon a day

True. It's hard on your kidneys. I can't take it because of that.

I have severe chronic gastritis due to ibuprofen. It’s hell. Nobody ever warned me about this growing up.

Advil, whose active ingredient is ibuprofen, has a warning on the side of its box that says, "Pregnant women should consult their physician before taking."
