Because the modern GOP is absolutely worthless.
The democrats should strongly consider some semblance of a moderate/slightly conservative wing and they would completely end the GOP. They could keep it all under their machine and finally destroy their competition. And if they were able to come to the middle ground, I'd be among them. The Republicans have failed me for the last time.

I know Johnson hasn't been perfect by any means... but I can tell you for sure he doesn't want that. There are a lot of forces at play within the GOP Congressional Caucus. You have a large faction of never-Trumper GOPe/uniparty grifters that control Congress. Lots of do-nothing and compromised Republicans need to get primaried by America First candidates in the mid-terms.

He is hostage to every swinging dick, conservative or moderate, who wants to have his way on something, regardless of consequences. Same thing happened in Senate when Republicans had a one vote majority but that included McDermott.
