Even if the filibuster is dropped, do we have 50 senators to pass the save act? They need to be on record if not.

Neither side will end the filibuster. Both sides know that when they are not in power, the filibuster is their only protection from the majority ramming through anything they want

I wish the conservative had the balls to ram something through.

They are weak and would never be so bold. They will always lead from behind if avoiding leading all together is not possible.

We don't need to end the filibuster, just the virtual filibuster.

What is really scary is that one day the Dems will be in charge again. And they will not hesitate to end the filibuster.

Thing is if the SAVE Act is passed we won’t need to worry about Dem retaliation when they get back in office. It’ll be a great while before they have power again.

They playing us again, just another talking point to divide the people and stay in power.

I still wonder how it 'became a thing'.

They are all being exposed as to what they stand for.

Which is why it will not pass. Conservative don't want to be in charge. ( which incidentally is why a lot of them hate Trump) Washington Conservative much more prefer democrat to be in charge so they do not have to be expected to DO anything and they can just complain and campaign on stopping the democrats.

Because republicans are stupid. If they changed the name of the bill to the Save Ukraine act or More money for Somali refugees act then it would pass without democrats thinking twice about voting for it. The ACA proved that the name of the bill does not mean shite because it did not make healthcare affordable.

True. There is another motivation, though. When they are in power, the filibuster prevents them from being steamrolled by the nuts in their own party who want to do crazy things.

JD doesn’t even get a vote unless there is a tie. How is he supposed to “drop the filibuster”? I might as well ask you to drop it.

It's literally a rule that allows senators to pretend that they are doing the work.

60 votes breaks filibuster and JD can only break a final vote tie of 50 to 50.

I beg to differ. Democrats will end it first priority when they regain the majority. They'll ram through their agenda with little regard for future repercussions. Whatever it takes. By any means necessary. Republicans need to do it first. Grow some gonads and a backbone.
