Bro, let’s just be honest here. If it was a democrat icon like Pelosi running to Mexico, conservative media Pundits would be losing their mind

I mean they made fun of Nancy when she got her haircut.

Politicians on both sides of the aisle are slime balls. You don’t have to excuse their behavior just because they are on your side. If they screw up, call their asses out

The thing is, if I had the means And time off, I would love to have been at the ritz in Cancun this week. Being in Houston sucked arse. However, it is just a Shitty look for a politician.

MSN has about 5 different panels on his terrible decision to leave his constituents high and dry. They want to make sure that everybody "feels" that this was treason or something.

Anybody with the ability to do so would have made the same decision he did. This is so political, it stinks.

People have the mentality of “if we suffer, our leaders should too”.

I posted this on the OT thread last night:
quote:

Americans being obsessed with the optics of a situation is a perfect representation of a shallow, moronic electorate who think a photo op somehow equates to being a good public servant. Ted Cruz's job is to represent the citizens of Texas in the United States Senate, not to use tragedies for a few photographs to convice the easily duped that he somehow cares about them because he shook a few hands and kissed a few babies. The most pressing concern of the voting public should be whether or not his votes and proposed legislation in the Senate are in line with their intellectual framework. It's amazing that there are people who think any politician actually cares about them.

Sounds like his wife gets the Winter blues real bad. He should have went and stayed and not apologized. I would have taken the fam away to So. FLA. or Cancun, if possible.

Partisan politics primarily, but some of it is just human nature. Like someone being on vacation from work and a moron making a “must be nice” type of comment.

Probably not much, but the optics are bad here. Cruz should know better especially when Repubs and conservatives hit Dems hard for their out of touch with the people rhetoric.

Yeah, it's understood that if you are the Governor of a state in crisis, or the President, during any crisis in your country, that's not the right time to go on vacation.

But what is a Senator going to do? He's not an executive, so what difference could he make? I'm not even that big a fan of the guy, anymore, but this is just ridiculous.

Like anyone in Texas wouldn't be on vacation right now if they had the means.
