We get it, boomers. No one had it as tough as you.
Quit fricking whining or you’re going to the home.

No one melts and gets triggered like a boomer confronted with the realties of how they’ll forever be known as the generation that destroyed the greatest country on earth.
No one. No wonder the children you raised are so good at it.

Ah boomers talking about how they went to college for 10 bucks and bought a house with 99% leverage for 5 dollars.
Mortgage rates were 15-20 percent in the 80s.
Mortgage companies required at least 10 percent down.
Thanks for showing your ignorance and proving my point.

Go to your safe space and get your binky.
Don't worry, your Golden Ticket parents will leave you their fortune and bail you out like they have their entire lives.

China and Russia have been working through their bots to stoke inter-generational hatred in this country. That along with the hatred Ds have for Rs has about done us in.

They gave me a $1,000,000 loan and now I’m a real estate mogul.
I thought y’all liked that?

Because Boomer Men were adults when they turned 18.
They went to work/college, married, bought a small home, raised families.
LOL. The second house my grandparents paid for cost them $5000. By the time they retired, their combined income was $60k (1990) They were making 12-times what they paid for their middle-class home.
The game is rigged against young people. Everything is bid up. A starter home in this town is nearly $300,000.
In what universe could you see a young couple making $3,600,000 per year when they retire?
A lot of the resentment toward Boomers is because you inherited a wealthy, free, open country where a little work-ethic got you along just fine. College cost a couple hundred dollars a year. You could literally pay for tuition working for minimum wage.
When they finally got in charge, Boomers created NAFTA. Boomers out-sourced all the decent paying skilled labor jobs to other countries. You destroyed all of the traditional aspects of society that held it together, because you wanted to have fun. You didn't have kids, aborted half a generation, and imported millions of ThirdWorlders to replace the kids you didn't have.
Boomers as a cohort deserve every ounce of scorn they recieve.
I am educated, have a successful business, and own my home free-and clear, in a good neighborhood in a nice town. I am GenX. But I can at least acknowledge the vastly different country that exists today versus the practical paradise inherited by Boomers.
Your tone-deafness about the privileges you took for granted only makes the Millennials bitching more reasonable.

My grandparents lived through the depression, fought in WW2.
Never once did I hear them whine about how the generation before them, or after them, had a Golden Ticket etc.
Early 80s had high unemployment, runaway inflation, 20 percent interest rates, and minimum wage was around 3 dollars.
Yeah, those were the days !
Also you have a lot of safety nets now that didn't exist back in the day, such as free healthcare for unemployed and poor.
This younger generation is the biggest pu$$y generation in history.

So what are you doing with that power now that you have taken it besides being a lazy pussy without motivation and blaming the most absurd, ridiculous blame that I have ever seen? What decisions are you making with that "generational power"
I dont want to denigrate over this because apparently there is a serious educational deficit and lack of rational and serious thought on the part of YOUR GENERATION - that must be why this keeps coming up in these ridiculous diatribes that belong in chaz or....
GENERATIONAL GROUPS DO NOT "TAKE POWER" This is an absurdity of the highest order and indicates my observations of who your generation is - and not only is it NOT pretty, its is as pathetic as it can be.
Seek an education - the one you have is defective in major ways

quote:Right. And that can't be done now. An uneducated working man could afford a down payment and a mortgage. Stop acting like that's true today.
Yep! Boomer here, we had nine kids in the family and one income..my father. Wore hand me downs, usually one or two gifts for Christmas, ate a lot of mash potatoes and gravy because mom could feed a lot of children with potatoes. One black and white TV, one car, scrounged up soda bottles and the occasional lawn mowing job for a little bit of money.
You think that ^^^^ was uncommon? It wasn’t. There were many families when I was a boy with 5-10 children and only the father working and we all got along by doing with less and many times the church would have food drives for families with a lot of children. Yeah….I’m a BOOMER!

I’m a millennial. Ask me anything about millennials that you want to know. I bet I can find a pretty good explanation for nearly anything you can think of.

What you’re trying to inject into the discussion has nothing to do with the differences between the generations…lol! Goes much deeper Scrubby.

This is such a beaten down topic and a horrendous bad take. If you don’t see why younger generations have a much harder time compared to those in yesteryear you are either too dumb to help or willfully ignorant.

Maybe if you could explain how what you say is true it would help those that don't believe the whining is legit.
My view - since about 1990, high school and especially college graduates have been convinced they are victims. Victims all sorts of ways. It's all about sexism, white supremacy, etc., and as is obvious from this thread - young people think they've been hosed economically by their parents and grandparents. But is it true? Explain how it is.

You should make this a thread. You'll get more traction.
