The biggest difference between Moronials and all previous generations is that previous generations did whatever they had to do,and their expectaions of standard of living were much lower than Moronials.

Moronials don't want to do any kind of hard labor.
There are plenty of skilled trades where you can make six figures, but those jobs are beneath you.
Do you think that the generations before you all loved working the hard labor jobs that payed well?
Of course not, but they did what they had to do to earn a decent living.

You want 100k for a cake unskilled job that doesn't exist.
Your generation tends to live in fantasy land and constantly play the victim card.

It's pathetic.

OK boomer

Now get back to your loser minimum wage job.
Somebody needs to cut my lawn and make my coffee, it might as well be you.

Snap to it Moronial !
Chop chop !

If I live to be 100 maybe I'll pay you minimum wage to wipe my a$$ with $100 bills.
Boomers are people born between 1946 and 1964.

The first Boomer didn't graduate HS until 1964 and college until 1968.
The last Boomer didn't graduate HS until 1982 and college in 1986.

Boomers are called Boomers because they were part of the baby boom that followed the end of WW2.

It's the generation before the Boomers that hit the post ww2 economic boom sweet spot, not the Boomers.
But Boomers didn't resent them and whine about how they were born with a golden ticket.
Boomers understood that they had to live through the depression and fight ww2, and that every generation has different and unique challenges.

Most Boomers hit the job market late 60s to mid 80s.
If you study a little history you will find that unemployment, inflation, and interest rates were pretty horrible in the 70s and early 80s.

Sorry to bust your bubble.

I know that for most Moronials a Boomer is defined as "someone older than me that's doing well and obviously were born with a silver spoon and handed a golden ticket"
quote:

Quite literally, a working man with a family of 5 back in the 60s could reasonably expect (without a college education) to fairly easily afford a home and food if he just worked his hours. You're simply being willfully blind if you won't admit that those conditions no longer persist. In many markets, the most industrious young people around might still struggle to accumulate the down payment on the most modest place they can find.

You speak about boomers and jobs in the 1960s.

Boomers are people born between 1946 and 1964.
A 1964 Boomer graduated HS in 1982, college in 1986.

What the hell does the job market and cost of living in the 1960s have to do with a Boomer that entered the work force in the mid 1980's?

The people that entered the post ww2 booming economy were born in the late 20's to early 30's.

The first Boomer didn't graduate HS until 1964 and college until 1968.

Most Moronials that rant about Boomers don't even have a clue about the years that Boomers were born.

To them a Boomer is just "someone older than me that's doing well and obviously were born with a silver spoon and handed a golden ticket"
Typical conversation between a Boomer (B) and Moronial (M)

M. There aren't any good paying jobs.
B. They need truckers, that pays well.
M. Oooh, I don't want to be on the road all of the time.

B. CAD/CAM Machinists are in demand and make good money.
M. Oooh, I don't want to work in a factory.

B. Oil jobs pay well.
M. Gross, and be in the heat and cold all day?

B. Fisherman make good money
M. It's too dangerous, and you're stuck on a boat all day.

B. Northwest needs loggers, they make good money.
M. And be in the cold and snow? no way.

B. What do you want to do?
M. Make 100k working from home.
B. Well then major in Computer Science or Engineering.
M. No way, that's too difficult. And be on call 24/7?

B. Well then what is your gameplan?
M. I don't know, there aren't any jobs.

click the link moron.
My grandparents lived through the depression, fought in WW2.
Never once did I hear them whine about how the generation before them, or after them, had a Golden Ticket etc.

Early 80s had high unemployment, runaway inflation, 20 percent interest rates, and minimum wage was around 3 dollars.
Yeah, those were the days !

Also you have a lot of safety nets now that didn't exist back in the day, such as free healthcare for unemployed and poor.

This younger generation is the biggest pu$$y generation in history.

No one melts and gets triggered like a boomer confronted with the realties of how they’ll forever be known as the generation that destroyed the greatest country on earth.

Go to your safe space and get your binky.
Don't worry, your Golden Ticket parents will leave you their fortune and bail you out like they have their entire lives.

Ah boomers talking about how they went to college for 10 bucks and bought a house with 99% leverage for 5 dollars.

Mortgage rates were 15-20 percent in the 80s.
Mortgage companies required at least 10 percent down.

Thanks for showing your ignorance and proving my point.
quote:

This is the biggest crock of bull shite. I joined the work force in 1979. Unemployment was high, inflation was about 13% and interest rates were double digits. I never had a pension. My parents were greatest generation, but were not on the affluent side. My Dad left me nothing but his name. So tell me again how privileged I am. I worked hard for everything I have!

Exactly.

1982 had highest unemployment rate since the depression, out of control inflation, and interest rates at 20 percent.
Stimulus checks? What's that?
And if you lost your job good luck getting health insurance.
You were easily denied for any pre-existing condition, and if you could get it it cost a fortune.
No ACA or free Obamacare back in the day.
You better not get sick or your life savings is gone.

That's some real Golden Ticket stuff right there !

It’s hilarious how closely you boomers sound like the progressives you claim to hate

Biggest crybaby bitch generation ever.

No, we didn't claim that our parents and grandparents were well off because they were handed a golden ticket.
We assumed that they were well off because they worked their a$$ off and made good decisions.

Your generation is the first generation to blame their failures on everyone else.
The first generation to think that every generation ahead of them was handed a golden ticket.
You sound like one of those lazy, ignorant, jealous losers.
Do better, you control your fate, stop blaming everyone else for your failures.
