Calling people RINOs when they are actually being Republicans is confusing.

Is MAGA compatible with the GOP at all? Seems like a totally different party to me.

Nothing wrong with providing opportunities for honest discussion, for clarification though.

These are the Candace Owens followers. No doubt about it. I've seen it first hand. My sister was MAGA and now says Trump is deep state. Wild what the Candace bitch can do to people.

This is what the MDS crowd doesn't get.

They're hyper-focused on the person, b/c that's what they've been told to do, and can't see the bigger picture being discussed.

After the past 3 months we've seen MAGA turn into neocon interventionists and now abjectly rejecting small government conservatism, while they label outsiders like Massie as "RINOS" and argue in defense of guys like Lindsey Graham, John McCain, John Bolton, and Kevin McCarthy (whether they realize it or not), guys who have been MAGA enemies in the past.

Yesterday blueboy had a good thread about slopulism, which really does hit a lot of the commentary about what MAGA is, now.

quote:

Slopulism is a political neologism combining "populism" and "slop". It describes low-effort, emotionally driven political rhetoric and half-baked policy ideas designed primarily to generate outrage, rack up social media engagement, or win votes, rather than offer genuine, workable solutions

That's why there is so much knee-jerk reactions to attempt relational references and whataboutism.

R's aren't conservative at all.

The Trump worship wing of the GOP just pulled out all the stops to remove a guy whose main sin was to oppose spending and foreign aid.

Now we're in a war and the debt numbers are spinning again. But at least we got rid of that guy. I guess Israel and Ukraine are happy.

Neither was Massie at the end. I mean look at his voting record. It doesnt line up with what he supposedly championed.

Voting to raise the debt ceiling under Biden was the nail in his coffin IMO. It raised the deficit more than $4 trillion

Voting against the sercure border act. Dumb. He didnt want to spend some money arming the Border patrol but that letft the door open to billions being spent on illegal immigrants.

I mean cmon

I want to know why the “ Libertarians” here were good with someone going for their 8th term and 15th and 16th year in office?

That doesn’t jibe man.

If Massie actually ran as a libertarian he wouldn’t have a seat to begin with. Why do they insist to try and take over the R party and say the R’s aren’t conservative enough?

Libertarians should be used to this. All they do is lose.

But libertarians can't win. They have a poor platform and honestly don't have a set of balls. They like to bitch about the other parties but have no practical solutions. "We shouldn't spend so much!" No shite sherlock, now implement something that makes that happen? Oh, you can't becuase you aren't in power? Then STFU.

As much as i agree with some of the things libertarians stand for, it's a ridiculous larp of a party especially when you claim you are serious and have this guy at your convention.

Because the Libertarians hate the Republican Party. They would rather side with Democrats than work with the GOP to get anything done.

Massie got on Trump's bad side for opposing him on the BBB. But, most didn't know he a fiscal hawk and opposed foreign. He became Epstein Epstein 24/7/365 kook.

How did young people vote in the election?
Of voters ages 18 to 29, 52% voted for Harris, and 46% voted for Trump. Young people were more likely to vote for Harris compared with all other age groups

If we can get the younger democrats to not show up that's a win.

What was his wish? I failed to identify that in the OP.

The language inversion/twisting by people like KCT about RINOs, neocons, and globalism is killing me today. Crying about the establishment and Paul Ryan/Dan Crenshaw types while you just cheered on removing one of the few outsiders for a Paul Ryan/Dan Crenshaw type is just beyond words.

This is a very generalized, binary point of view.

Just because Massie is an outsider, it doesn't mean he is useful.

Just because Massie opposes people like Crenshaw, it doesn't mean I have to support him.

Your view is extremely limited. I can not like Ryan and Crenshaw and still not like Massie. I evaluate them individually. I don't lump them into groups and say I must support these because I oppose those. That's a very braindead approach.
