It’s amazing to me how religious conditioning can blind people to things going on right under their noses. Religion is nothing more than a control mechanism to keep the population herded into warring factions.

^THIS
a catholic charity seeking to expand its reach and impact cannot be equated to a parish
in fact, the parishes generally have to deal with the fallout... it's a real ham and eggs breakfast so to say

Incorrect, but I have head this argument for years.

where did the Bible or any Catholic teaching include taking tax payer money and using it for plane tickets.
Catholic Charities... "we're not doing anything wrong... but we are definitely using tax payer funds to buy plane tickets.Newsweek

as a christian (protestant) i of course believe we are to help migrants. but the Bible definitely did not lay down any use case for lobbying for money from the government to help those people break the law. and by break the law, i mean lie about asylum seeking. unless you're a conservative in Brazil, criminal from El Salvador, or fleeing Maduro, there is no such thing as asylum seeking from 90% of SA. they also are usually passing through a dozen of spanish speaking countries, which means the only thing they are actually fleeing are fellow brown people, which is pretty racist tbh.
it's not that they should not be allowed in. even if it's to seek a better life.
i think we are all sympathetic to that. it's that no American has the expectation that they can just get on a flight to France, UK, or walk into Canada and expect to stay and immediately get a free flight, housing, work, or debit cards.
we would all plan ahead of time for that to make sure we are obeying the laws of the land. Catholic Charities has specific lawyers and practices to prepare people to lie about asylum seeking and exploit that using non-believer money.
also something to note.... absolutely 0 democrats, Christian or not, complain about Catholic Charities or them receiving tax-payer funds. They will defend it to their deathbed.
they don't lift a finger of defense for Salvation Army, Samaritan's purse, Compassion International, etc.
There's a reason for that.

While some of what you said is true, the Bible clearly explains to have a church community and come together as one under God. Not just be a hermit who prays to God and reads the Bible

Definitely a person who annoys you.

the roman catholic church was hijacked and has an apostate leader , marxist antipope political being.
there is nothing that can be done once the money flows. the head of the beast needs defeated; and the head always grows back just like the FISA court renewals. I will never not go to holy Mass because evil infiltrated the Church. Jesus Christ is the Eucharist. no one can take that away.

Religion is the root that culture stems from, it’s the basis of all of our values
Destroy a people’s religion, you destroy them

The Church has served the poor and indigent since its inception. In fact, that’s precisely what Jesus preached. This isn’t some new cause the Catholic Church has taken up.
That's not what the Church is doing in this case and either you know it and are just foolishly trolling or you are ignorant.
The Church isn't "serving the poor and indigent" by funding mass illegal immigration, it could more easily do that by engaging in outreach where they live. Instead, they're playing geo-politics by funding the infrastructure which gathers the potential migrants together, half-assed shepherds them to the border and then urges them to cross illegally while also working with state and federal politicians to craft laws which funnel money to them (and other religious NGOs) to clothe, feed and house the illegals (as well as the added funding which goes directly to the illegals whether in cash payments or access to government programs).
They create the need for their service and call it charity, and the short-sighted like yourself fall for it.

Making people incapable of handling their own affairs isnt "serving the poor."
Its trapping them in poverty

It has been several years since any of my money has ended up in their accounts. Not going to contribute to the down fall of our country through our church.

Catholic Charities is the worst organization for the spread of illegal immigrants. Nobody understands this and the ones who do, turn a blind eye.

Catholic Church was done for me when they emailed my SIL who is a widow with two kids under 2 years old and asked for a donation to baptize the youngest.
No thank you. Greasy

On balance the Catholic Church does tremendous good especially at the community level. With that said all institutions suffer from malevolence because institutions are composed of humans and all humans are sinners. Just have to work out the evil on a continuous basis through the grace of God. It's a never ending battle.

let me rephrase. where did it say to go to King David or Ceasar and request money from people in the other parts of the kingdom/empire to buy a camel and ship them to Rome or Mikhmoret Beach because they liked the weather there better?
