Haha previously invaded countries distancing themselves from their period invader and asking to join NATO to be protected is not an invasion.

Wow. Former Soviet serfs are now seen joining up to not be Soviet serfs.

It's only an existential threat to Putin, not to Russia, were they to join the rest of the civilized world and adopt a democratic system with a free-market economy.

So do as we say or else.

This coming from a citizen of a country sliding towards socialism.

It's kinda like Russia wanting to put some missile silos in Cuba. I wonder how we would react?

It's amazing seeing people that likely consider themselves conservatives using the prog "YOU'RE A RACIST!" tactic.

That's all it is. Closed minds lashing out without thought.

You have to have self awareness for objective thought. Most in this country lack it or cannot mentally handle what it's truth would tell them.

The Russian attack was one option, or, and hear me out, he could stop being a authoritarian dictator who sees the former Soviet states as vassals who must submit or be conquered, and maybe he spend time building a successful capitalist/democratic regime that people would voluntarily want to be associated with. Just an idea.

Yeah, this has nothing to do with Putin being sociopathic dictator whose fortune and life depends on compliance.

No it isn't. It's like Cuba thinking they may want to possibly have communication and backing of defense with Russia potentially one day.

And then the US invading. We didn't have any missiles and weren't looking to setup offensive capabilities there. You know since the Ukraine never joined NATO....

I can only assume you’re trolling if you mean that the smaller Warsaw Pact members are akin to children being lured in by a pedophile.

They want to be protected from Russian domination. Several of those nations spent the better part of the last 500 years either fighting Russia or under Russian occupation.

Is NATO supposed to just say “nah, frick you”?
