Isn't she over the church that all the president's attend? That historic church that antifa nearly burned down during Trump's first term?

I am aware that the National Cathedral has an Episcopalian history and that the founding fathers came out of the Anglican Church {church of England} and some moved into the Episcopalian Church since the Anglicans had a loyalty pledge to England….so the cut and paste from Wikipedia doesn’t tell me anything new…..
The reason for my question as to why “The National Cathedral” is solely Episcopalian is that the name National Cathedral implies a National connection explicitly and a government connection is implied. At the same time we all know separation of church and state is codified. So the current circumstance of having the National Cathedral run by a minor denomination of extremely left leaning political activists runs counter to common sense….
A simple fix is to drop the name NationalCathedral and name accurately as the the Liberals Cathedral.
Tax exempt status for political activists denominations is another issue to fix…

I love the outdoors in the far northeast corner of the state but have no interest in any further dealings with the twin cities.

Thanks for asking. She asked him to have mercy on people and to remember that no matter what labels we use, we are all children of god and deserve dignity and respect. It’s the same sermons I heard growing up in a Jesuit led parish. It’s not about nationalism or politics- it’s about the teaching of Christ. Whatsoever you do the least of my people….. I do have a better understanding of all of the outrage thanks to this thread.

She made a very clear implication that gay and trans individuals are in danger from Trump. The trans crazies have become the most violent demographic in America mostly due to this deliberately false narrative of violence against them when in fact they are far more likely to be the perpetrator of violence.

Here's you another google cut and paste. It's Episcopal because Congress gave this to them in 1893.
In 1891, a meeting was held to begin plans for an Episcopal cathedral in Washington. On January 6, 1893, the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation of the District of Columbia was granted a charter from Congress to establish the cathedral. The 52nd United States Congress declared in the act to incorporate the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation of the District of Columbia that the "said corporation is hereby empowered to establish and maintain within the District of Columbia a cathedral and institutions of learning for the promotion of religion and education and charity."
I did not know until this week that the National Cathedral was associated with a religious group. I bet a lot of other people didn't either. Go to the Cathedral website and look at the clergy! YIKES!!!

Nobody is encouraging children to trans. They just don’t want them to be victims of far right zealotry… just a reasonable amount of tolerance for kids

All kinds of things have National in their name. We have National Car Rental, NCR (National Cash Register), National Semiconductor, National Oilwell, etc. We can't keep someone from putting National in their name. It's super misleading about the cathedral.

This is not what she said. You are changing what she said after the fact to make it sound less political and partisan.
She said specifically to have mercy on gay and trans children. The only pushback from Trump's admin in that respect is to trans children taking hormone therapy and having surgeries because they are too young to understand those decisions and permanent treatments should not be permitted until they are adults. What threats has anybody made towards gay and trans children?
She specifically said to have mercy on illegal immigrants because we need them to pick our crops and clean our buildings. She is arguing we need to keep them here to work for slave wages and take jobs from American citizens. I guess she prefers having her lawn care and housekeeping done for cheap.
First, you pretend not to know what she said and then you try and make the case that she meant something different than what she actually said. Why take part in the discussion if you are going to be dishonest about what you are defending?
