You are making an assumption that the USA will still be intact. Assuming Trump wins, the key will be, is he allowed to take office? If not, that's the end of the USA.

Vivek wants to gut the federal government and that is a great start.

There is a lot more to governing than having good ideas and wanting to do something. Vance and Vivek need to govern something and show that they can do what they say and then I will support them. For now, DeSantis is proven and clearly the best at governance. He is a machine at getting things done both through EO and legislation.

Because it's very likely the DEMs get 8 years after Trump's term.

This board is completely delusional on this point. They think the Rs can just automatically put in JD for another two terms after Trump. I want Trump to win to secure the border, clean out the intel agencies, and change things up on foreign policy and the economy. However, looking at $36 trillion in debt, bad inflation with no end in sight and no plan, the ME in a powderkeg, Ukraine falling apart, tension over Taiwan, good luck with all of that. And I don't really understand the deficit issues well, but this doesn't look good.

2024 or 2028, pick your poison IMO.

Back to OP, as much as I've made fun of the bench like Gaetz, MTG, and Boebert; JD, Ron, and Vivek are decent America First options moving forward. Ron is probably the only guy that can sort of satsify the establishment and remain somewhat populist.

I am going to run me , and with Executive Order require that you pass a text to register to vote

I can fix this first thing I'm gonna do is enforce a nationally required reading comprehension test using The Constitution , read it then explain it
in order for you to secure your right to vote.

I'm sure you'll all agree .some of the people voting in this election are pretty stupid and fall for almost anything on MSM or the interwebs
making them read and pass a test about the Constitution would be a good requirement

The country is gonna break up by the turn of the regardless and thank God for it. Thread title is disingenuous because we saw in his first term that Trump was no hope at all

Good point, but I didn't think we'd get much conversation here if I asked it in that light.

He must be inkling of hope, in some sort of way, based on the evidence shown how hard "someone/s" is working to keep him out.

And as much as that hope is small, the alternative is no doubt straight up the continuance of the reign of the existing puppet master/s.

We need a capable, focused version of DJT.

Big Ron would be great. He leads under pressure well. He can handle a one on one debate well.

He might be ok in a larger one if you don’t have someone like Trump around that just takes all the air.

I do believe, though, that he would execute the duties of president in a constitutional manner and would continue to rein in the federal government's current overreach and abuse of power. In that respect his executive experience as governor translates quite nicely into executive knowledge and ability at the federal level.

I'm with you on this.

I've come to a point where I truly believe right now, if DJT doesn't destroy Fed institutions from a perspective of them not being outlined in the Constitution, they will be brought back to these levels and more the next time a Dem Pres and Dem Congress has the power.

IOW, if DJT just kneecaps a 3 letter agency now, but lets it live on the rest of his term, Dems will resurrect it and use Congress to cement it as untouchable by future administrations. It all has to go.

It could depend on how the GOP approach the 2026 midterms. If Trump loses the WH that will be 4 election cycles(18,20,22,24) that MAGA has lost. The reason 22 was a loss is because there wasn’t a red wave and the Dems kept the Senate and kept more seats in the house than predicted. 22 should have been a big win for the house after all the congressional redistricting.

If Trump loses republican candidates will move to the left. The GOP will put center right politicians in leadership positions and spend their money to elect center right candidates.

I appreciate your well thought out answer.

Unfortunately, I don't believe that the GOP, as it stands, offers much hope for our country.

I think you’re right here. Haven’t really thought of it from that angle before. I’d like to think the next great president should have Trump’s dynamism, but Calvin Coolidge’s approach to governance.
