As in leader of the GOP or President?

Because it's very likely the DEMs get 8 years after Trump's term. If that's true, nobody we're thinking of is likely to be the option in 2036. That's 12 years away.

I don't think there will be a leader of the GOP. The MAGA faction will devolve into civil war and only act collectively to thwart the majority of the party ("RINOS" or "GOPE") from doing what the majority of GOP voters want. If the DEMs don't get 2, B2B 2-term Presidents, it's b/c the GOP has a reckoning in the 2nd term and emerges as a unified front with the minority factions like MAGA dead or dying.

He can't do what he's done in Florida with the rest of the country. The president is not supposed to have that kind of power or influence. A state governor, however, absolutely does have that kind of influence to make people's lives better.

We need more DeSantis's in State governorships telling the federal government to frick off.

The right has a good upcoming roster but that could be completely gone in a short period of time.

Desantis is by far the most efficient leader in politics today,
While I don't disagree with that, Vance would hold an enormous advantage going into 2028 if he remains as impressive as he has been as the VP nominee.

If President Harris becomes a reality, it will not matter.
The sky will absolutely be falling chicken little will be right.
It will mean they managed to steal another election through fraud and chicanery. Four years of Harris and the millions of new illegal voters on top of the FBI, DOJ, CIA, AG, "free press" and other government entities out to destroy our freedom, there will never be a fair impartial election again in this country. It is not paranoia if they are really out to get you.

The DJT movement and following, like it or not, is the same as the Obama and Clinton movements. They became the face of the party and gave no room for others to show themselves. It is possible once DJT moves on, there will be no one readily available to become the front runner of the Rep party.

If Don, Jr. decides he wants to throw in, I could see a sizable portion of the "MAGA base" just flocking to him.

Personally, I like Vance and DeSantis, and still like Rand Paul as well. Let's maybe not count him out, though.

I like Doug Burgum too, but he's 68 right now. After 80 year old Biden and hopefully soon to be 80 year old Trump back in the White House, it would be nice to have a leader who hasn't already been Social Security eligible for several years.

I appreciate you trying to inject humor into your posts, but liberals sense of humor fails to land. You were ready to hand the nomination to Harris just a couple of months ago. Trump had no chance.

Not sure if you caught it or not, but you seemingly conceded this election to Trump at this point.

Sorry you're racking up the L's lately. And I hope you find a pill that cures your TDS.

You are confused, sir. Or just lying.

I called the DEMs choosing Harris as a sacrificial lamb when the crazies on here thought Michelle Obama was going to replace Biden. I have never waivered.

Once the DEMs couldn't hide Biden I have never waivered in saying Trump will roll in November.

Retired in ‘18. Was doing superb. Took a job later on in ‘19 solely to break the boredom and have a little extra toy buying money. I now have to have that job (plus my retirement) to make ends meet. Cannot understand how someone could vote for 4 more years of this crap show.

Vance sounds good, but he really hasn't done anything. DeSantis has remodeled his state's outlook. He cleaned up the bs in SoFla and now the state is solidly red. He handles his business and doesn't back down to the likes of Disney.

We are going to need a president who can cut the spending, real cuts, not just cuts in growth. He can get that done. The national debt is out of control.

The only one who seems to understand math is Ron Paul.

Crazy that this is where we are - pretending we can continue to create wealth with a printer.

4 years is a lot of time to learn more about candidates. As of now, I like a number of potential candidates. But I also remember liking others in the past only to have them reveal their true ideals and changing opinions of them.

I do want to see how Vance and Trump get along as time goes by. I don't have any reason to dislike Vance currently, and Trump won't be a candidate in 4 years. But I did have a different view of Pence going into the election than I did by the end of Trump's first term.

I also have a huge level of respect for Ron and he's got a consistent history that's been public. Right now I like Ron, but the RNC can be a real circus that eliminates some candidates for seemingly invalid reasons.

I agree with you in a lot of ways here. You are absolutely correct in that he can't do as president what he has done as governor of Florida in that the president does not have the authority to act in the same vein as a governor. I do believe, though, that he would execute the duties of president in a constitutional manner and would continue to rein in the federal government's current overreach and abuse of power. In that respect his executive experience as governor translates quite nicely into executive knowledge and ability at the federal level.

I believe you and I are on the same page more than you think.

Edited to add: I agree Vance doesn’t gave much experience now but hopefully will get some as VP.

And DeSantis is awesome. My gov!
