The ones on this board who declared DeSantis would fold like a cheap tent.

Disney-DeSantis settlement humiliates past pro-Disney headlines: Media 'as usual' were wrong….

It's really sad Republicans hate people that actually get things done. Maybe he should start a shitty social media company and complain about the left all day instead of doing things to defeat them.

The position of governor in FL is almost as powerful as the position of governor in LA.

Not surprised how this turned out.

That’s a long article of context but never outline what was agreed to in the settlement. Journalism sucks these days.

The children are the real winners.

I wonder how long this thread will last without some bitter Ronbot making this about the primary instead of Disney?

ETA - Whoops. It took 1 reply.

This turned out much different than so many Trump fans hoped.

America’s Guv.

THIS is the way: our primary focus should be on electing governors and legislators with enough backbone to push back against Federal overreach.

The minute DeSantis reached for the brass ring of power in Washington D.C. is the moment he became a part of the problem.

Leave the Potomac Beltway 3 Ring Circus to the clowns.

I like Desantis. He is a top notch political operator in getting these actually done. In today’s political climate, finding people on the right that actually get things done to fight the left can be a challenge.

I hoped when he ran we would see an emerging personality to match his technical, political skills. We didn’t and it was his undoing.

Hopefully, he got something out of the 2024 attempt that will drive him to be successful in 2028.

Agreed on journalism sucks. Essentially, Disney dropped the absurd "new contracts" the old board signed before being replaced.

Florida agreed to go back to the old arrangement with the big caveat that the board is now run by the state of Florida not Disney- so- all status quo so no locals get any tax burdens but Disney lost control

I hoped when he ran that GOP primary voters would care more about technical and political skills than his personality.

They do it strictly because Trump does it. And by the way, Trump doesn’t just complain about the left, he complains about DeSantis even though he’s not even in the presidential race anymore. A governor who turned Florida deep red (for now) and did a damn good job with wokeness and Covid, and he continues to rip him to shreds for some bizarre reason. He wants to polarize and destroy the Republican Party. And his cult falls in line.

The cult likes to be entertained, the cult does not care about the country. If Trump said Ron DeSantis was a good guy tomorrow they’d never use the term Ron-bots again.

This seemed inevitable. For all the money Disney had, Ron had the state legislature and Florida Supreme Court fully on his side.

State government can seem ineffectual at times but when they're all unified against something I'd say they're a pretty sure bet.

That's because the "victory" is insignificant. This is just red meat for his base.

Or maybe, just maybe, he did his research (or paid someone to), understood the law and what he could and couldn't do, and chose a path with an extremely high chance of success. Maybe he's smart enough to avoid fights where the law isn't on his side.

What are the benefits that we will see from this victory? Winning a court case means nothing if there is no real world change.

Is this going to stop Disney from putting out woke garbage, grooming kids, or hiring pedos? That's what I care about. I don't see how Disney dropping a lawsuit over the special district is going to change the content Disney produces.

Remember when you were celebrating all the winning from 2016-2019? How's that winning going in 2024?

All of the fake winning in the world doesn't mean shite if it doesn't stick. Meatball just showed Trump Loyalists how you actually win, and you want to pretend it's no big deal.
