If tweet fails to load, click here. Not sure why at least on my screen it cuts off at the bottom but says both countries agree Iran cannot have a nucleur weapon.

Read down a few comments and there is a link to the Chinese news release and the only two things they listed are the economic and agricultural cooperative points.
I have a feeling CCP is telling Trump and company what they want to hear but with little or any follow through. Remember the big Boeing deal that was announced during Trump's first term? China made a big deal about it, got lots of press and praise but never actually followed through with any purchases.

The Chinese are no more trustworthy than the Iranians. They'll say anything and agree to any treaty or agreement because they have no intention of honoring them. Their word is worthless. Watch what they do and ignore what they say.

I believe the Boeing deal was signed in early 2020, right? Would Covid have impacted a lot of that? A few years before, there were 2 Boeing crashes, and at one point, Trump grounded Boeing. Wonder if there were other factors in play aside from China just not living up to it?

This is what they do every time
Need to totally decouple
Can get the cheap goods made somewhere else in SE Asia or Central America and bring back the manufacturing of the important things

I guess it's a good thing we literally control their ability to attain oil at this point. It's powerful leverage.

You cannot trust them but if you could I would push a deal with them to split the world in 2 and bully everybody in our half while they do theirs.

China used a Boeing to fly covid into the USA. Does that count?

So big American corporate can continue to rely on offshore communist slave labor, China can continue to subsidize soybeans and expand operations into our country, the 4D-chess Hormuz blockage appears out of fashion and they'll buy some oil from us.
Doesn't look terribly ground-breaking, but ok.

Agreed. But it least you can take them out for a date.

Re: agriculture, China looks so immense on a map, but a very large percentage of that land is not good for agriculture. OTOH, the U.S. has a huge percentage of fertile land.

There is little reason to trust the Chinese. They seek to spy on and steal intellectual property, all while working to undermine and divide other cultures. With a strategic and long-term commitment to their goals, they remain a formidable and persistent adversary.

Or this administration is telling the people what they want to hear when it’s not actually true. Been happening a lot lately.
Only time will tell

It would, if covid hadnt originated in US.

China is much more of a deck of cards than most people realize. They are slimeballs and have probably caused us many more issues the last 30 years than the Soviets ever did. However, they have huge debt, huge turmoil in their own party, and most of their under-30s are completely checked out on the current system.

They've been promising us the real recipe for Peking Duck for 45 years.....all we got was duck with soy sauce.
