While their voting base is a concern, we could industrialize Alberta in a way Canada never has. We can do the same in Siberia & Kamchatka too, albeit not through territory gain, but economic investment.
Cuba is an interesting case. I’m sure we could overwhelm their populace with the wonders of a capitalistic society. They had a taste of it in the 60s and 70s, but it’s all been downhill thereafter, no doubt due to their re-alignment with communism/socialism.
For the sake of debate - no. Global warming is a sham, perpetrated by energy companies, even those who are hurt by the sham. A dollar spent today can be three dollars spent tomorrow, as how many government regulated industries and companies operate these days.

Greenland. Then we can buy the rest

I say Greenland for myriad reasons.
Alberta and their separatist movement is something I've been following recently, and they're really just wanting to be independent from Canada as opposed to most Americans' belief that they're wanting to join the US. They're already getting fleeced to pay for the DEI policies and mismanagement of the other territories with their resources and hard work, so i don't think they're fond of the thought of their resources paying for the DEI policies and mismanagement of 20 ultra-blue US States.
I'd love to have them on board, but I think the US would have to balkanize into "red and blue" entities officialy before they'd consider joining us.
Greenland OTOH, I think they can be wooed. They've been redheaded stepchildren to Denmark for their entire existence. Show them that we can bring them immense wealth from their resources, bring a better trade network and some American business chains to their island, more Healthcare options and we can do it all while still responsibly managing their ecosystem, and i think they'd beg to join us.
Cuba... I really just don't want to deal with that.

Place a Golden Dome defense system in Greenland.
quote:
The Golden Dome is a proposed multi-layer missile defense system for the United States, designed to detect and destroy various types of missiles, including ballistic and hypersonic ones, before they can reach their targets. It aims to utilize a network of satellites and ground-based systems to provide comprehensive protection for the U.S. homeland.

Alberta. All day, every day.
Why? Because of their frickton of oil, for starters. Another reason is British Columbia. I say that because if Alberta were to become a US territory or state, BC would be effectively cut off from the rest of Canada. All of BC's electrical, rail, gas and roadways connecting it to the rest of Canada run through Alberta.
If Alberta were to come over, it probably wouldn't be long until BC followed.

1. Greenland
2. Alberta
3. Cuba, it will take 20 years or so to fix that mess of Socialism gone wrong again. Remember when the leftist in the US proclaimed how great the medical system was in Cuba and said we should model ours after theirs?

Cuba. Idk why the fuq we let it go after the Spanish/American War.(Rhetorical question. I know why) Greenland would be more strategic though.

2. Cuba: Would love it, but do we want 10 million almost communists voting... Maybe if it was a territory like Puerto Rico.
Most Cubans are opposed to communism, having lived its failures.

I look forward to a day when Russia is again in a friendly relationship with us...
But fully agreed that Alberta without Camadian economic handcuffs would soar.

Yea a couple generations free from the Castro mafia could do wonders.
