Being one or the other?
Kinda lame question and ready for downvotes but genuinely curious which position carries more weight and why exactly.
Both is not and answer

House has the power of the purse.
Senate has confirmation authority.
Senate has confirmation authority.

The House controls the budget.
The Senate decides SCOTUS nominees.
I’m leaning House.

I say the House…they control the budget, as others have said but they also have more Conservative firebrands who are more apt to get things investigated. The House also sets impeachment which they need to do then take the Articles over to the Senate, drop them on the floor, and say they aren’t wasting their time with a sham “trial” since the “jury” is clearly compromised.

In this case it may slow or stop the damage being done by biden.

the House, because a simple majority gets things done (or stops things) there. A 51 seat majority in the house (with entact filibuster rules) isn't very powerful.
Now if the democrats remove teh filibuster... Things can get ugly fast if a party has both houses.

All three branches of government are SUPPOSED to be equal

The answer for the short term, imo, is the House. I say that because right now we have some very pressing things that need to be investigated but will not so long as the communists control the house.

You are aware the House and Senate are part of the same branch of government, right?

If Rs take the House, what would possibly make its way to the Senate that they would need to overturn the filibuster to pass?

The Senate is more powerful. It has a couple special duties, cabinet appointments, judiciary approvals, impeachment jury, and approve treaties.
Obviously the judiciary approvals will be the most important should a SCOTUS member die or retire, but there are also numerous federal judges that await appointment.
While the house does control initiating any budgetary bill, it still requires the Senate to approve. In a split party situation though it doesn't matter which one you had control over from a budgetary perspective though.
The house can do a couple dog and pony shows and can impeach folks, but without senate control (or real tangible proof of malfeasance), it's back to being a dog and pony show.
These good news is without a governance trifecta, rampant spending should end. The bad news is, without a solid majority, it'll be a horse trading for pork adventure over the next two years as representatives trade financial favors for their state for their votes.

Packing the Supreme Court maybe?
Maybe something the house repubs can do is hold investigations over the Dems in the Senate and Prez EOs heads...to help keep them in check.

I am really concerned one will get Scalia'd. Didn't pan out they wanted them, but guaranteed it will this go around.

Senate because they confirm all cabinet members and judiciary appointments that carry a lifetime term. Don’t want to have Biden able to have left wing activist judges rubber stamped in confirmation hearings with a Dem majority in the Senate.
